New York City / New Jersey Vacation!

Hey folks! I'm wishin' and hopin' there is no "Vacation Thread" .. but here I go.

I'm going into NYC today as well as Thursday. I'm vacationing in a rental house in North Jersey. For everyone who has visited/lived in this area, where are some places to see/eat? The obvious and not so obvious?

I have no idea what tourists want to see since I live here. Guess it all comes off as common place to me. I guess you should go check out the East Village, nice area, great shopping, really interesting area.

We're staying in the Atlantic Highlands in NJ. I guess this really isn't North Jersey? Haha.. whatever. :P

Took the train from Redbank into NYC yesterday. Apparently everyone is having electrical issues up here.. because on the trip back .. we were going 30 mph .. the whole way. Took us damned forever to get back.

Got to see the Empire State Building, Times Square, Top of the Rock, Hard Rock New York, Museum of Natural History, Central Park. All the biggies. Sucks we couldn't see the WTC memorial, I really wanted to go over there.

As for this part of NJ, we've checked out Twin Lights, Sandy Hook, and that's about it.. :/

Gonna check out the boardwalk, hopefully some bars down that way too.. hopefully.

Eat at Juanitos in Red Bank. Also visit Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash also in Red Bank.

If you just want a boardwalk that's not commercial go to Spring Lake.

If you want games, rides and clubs, go to Point Pleasant.

Don't go to Seaside.

It's filled with muscle headed Guidos and ****ty Ginas.
