Likely one of konami's franchise that they have left where they haven't made their dev's suffer and other's rethink about ever working for them if they were ever offered to work for them.

Pair this with HoloLens and it would make the trading card game exciting to watch and play.

Damn that is a great idea and your a very clever poster for mention this. not sure if Konomi thought about this but it would be a very smart play. If done right.

I remember I used to play the hell out of the World Championship Tournament 2004 game on my Game Boy back in the day. That was when I was really into it.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Saikyou Card Battle announced for 3DS

New Yu-Gi-Oh! game due out in Japan this summer.

The latest issue of Weekly Jump reveals Yu-Gi-Oh! Saikyou Card Battle for 3DS.

Due out this digitally this summer in Japan, the 3DS title features a cast of game-original characters (it is unknown if existing characters will appear). Players take on the role of the protagonist, a young boy with fiery hair, as he duels against a number of rivals. There is also a character named Guide-san who will support you in duels (and is similar in appearance to the character on the “Tour Guide From The Underworld” card).

Here are the characters introduced in the scan:

  • Protagonist – The main character and player avatar. Take control of this character and engage in duels agaainst a variety of rivals.
  • Guide-san – An assist character who will support you in duels.
  • Psychic Tendo – A character who makes use of Psychic types to attack by various means.
  • Strong 19 – A power-type character who makes use of high attack power monsters to play out an intense battle.
Given that this is likely the formal unveil of the new 3DS Yu-Gi-Oh! game confirmed earlier this year (unless there are more than one), a western release for Yu-Gi-Oh! Saikyou Card Battle is also planned.

Konami recently revealed Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: Ultimate Card Battle as their newest game for the series, and the latest issue of V-Jump provides us with another look and some new details. [Thanks, YGOrganization, via Nintendo Everything.]

The game’s story revolves around the “Legend Challenge,” a new tournament that Seto Kaiba throws shortly after the events of Battle City. Similar to the Battle City tournament, you’ll get to go around challenging various Duelists in the city.

Jounouchi (Joey), Kaiba, and other Duelists from the original series will appear as your rival in the tournament. Based on the above scan, it looks like the game will use Speed Duels. There hasn’t been any word on whether regular Duels will be in the game. The Speed Duels will also feature the latest system with Pendulum Summons.

Additionally, the monsters will appear on the field with their 3D animations, as shown in the above image with Dark Magician Girl.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: Ultimate Card Battle will feature cards from the latest Starter Deck, such as the Performapal Sleight Hand Magician.

While Seto Kaiba and other characters will be around as rivals, the game features its own original rival characters such as “Dark Kuroda” and Light Tsukiko” shown above. There are many other new characters with their unique decks that you’ll get to take on.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: Ultimate Card Battle will release in Japan for Nintendo 3DS in summer 2016.

The Pre-Alpha footage shows the player choosing cards that are then displayed in full 3D. However, being that this is fan-made, it might suffer the same result as previous fan-made projects and get shut down.

Yu-Gi-Oh! AR Game Lets You Duel in Real Time Like The Anime

For years, Yu-Gi-Oh! fans have dreamed of being able to play Duel Monsters the way Yugi and his friends (and foes) did in the anime series, and although we're not quite there yet, a new fan-made augmented reality game is getting us closer to turning that dream into reality.
YouTuber Microwave Sam released a video of him demonstrating the capabilities of the augmented reality game he helped developed for Microsoft's HoloLens, and it will make you want to believe in the Heart of the Cards. The game even has voice commands and touch gestures to perform certain card game actions such as summoning creatures, attacking or activating Trap cards. Just like the show, the monsters come to life.
[YT]1Zvi2MyXIOk[/YT]
“The following is a fan-made video of a fan-based game. Yu-Gi-Oh! belongs to Kazuki Takahashi and Konami. Please support the official release,” the developer said “We went to Dolores Park in San Francisco, CA to give you a walkthrough demo of how Yugioh AR works! Basically, Kaiba sent me the new duel gazer to develop with, and he told me to make a video for all you Yugioh fans.”
The game is not available on public, but Yu-Gi-Oh! fans would probably demand Konami to fund this project. It's fascinating to see how augmented reality could revolutionize the way we play games, and Yu-Gi-Oh! or Duel Masters is the perfect game for this amazing technology.

While Konami Digital Entertainment's Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is due out for Nintendo Switch on April 25th in Japan, the rest of the world will have to wait until the summer to take a closer look at this all-new card game. The slight delay is unfortunate, but at the very least the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! title will feature all previously released Legacy of the Duelist content at launch.

Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is set in the rich Yu-Gi-Oh! world, created by Kazuki Takahashi, which means that you will have a unique change to team-up with (or fight against) characters like Seto Kayba (who's coming to Bandai Namco’s Jump Force this May), Yuya Sakaki, and Dark Magican.

According to Konami, Duelist: Link Evolution will include well over 9.000 cards, allowing you to build your very own card deck and challenge other players with local-play or Nintendo Switch Online.

Konami has released an all-new TV spot for Link Evolution, so be sure to check it out down below:
