Just everything about this cast screams they are doing a discount GI Joe movie. Bruce Willis is now doing Direct to Video fodder with 50 Cent.

Really?! Renegades is by far the most mature of the G.I. Joe cartoons; containing the least amount of 'dumbing down' for the audience. Plus, it features actual plot progression, rounded villains (as opposed to over-the-top evil/card-carrying villains) and even subtle foreshadowing from as early as the first episode for things that didn't start showing up until much later.

I thought Renegades was pretty well written, but the animation IMHO wasn't very good. It was definitely a step down from Resolute.

not its not very good...Ill usually forgive bad art if the story is exceptional, but this is too much

na...Renegades is good, and it's written well, i dont like the drawings or roadblocks voice but other then that...it's good.

I don't want to set my expectations so high after seeing that but I just don't think it's possible that it could be even worse than the first one.

Anyone know if Arnold Vosloo will be returning in this one?

It looks like he is. Toy Fair pictures have a figure of a more classically traditional Zartan that I guess resembles Vosloo, so I imagine he won't be disguised as US President (Jonathan Pryce) the whole movie.

I'm just sort of annoyed he was made American. I do like Vosloo as an actor a lot and think he's very underrated and I was excited he was in the movie playing a movie. But he was barely in it and didn't do much of anything. He also didn't get to play him as an Aussie either which we know Vosloo can do. Honestly, they should've just gotten Vosloo to play Cobra Commander instead but that would've meant not doing the ****** Rex angle.

Wouldn't be much of a stretch considering he's South African and he's played everything from American to British to an Egyptian mummy to a Muslim Arab terrorist on 24.

American is different from South African, but that is what Vosloo played in the first movie. Granted it wasn't very good and it was a very rushed cookie cutter version of Zartan. His character on 24 was an Arab Muslim which also isn't South African.

It's just since I do like Vosloo I'd actually like to see him play the traditional Zartan and not the version from the previous movie.

There aren't very many actors who can do an Australian accent well. He is probably one of them, though.

Sam Worthington can't seem to do anything EXCEPT his Australian accent .

But to me while Zartan has always been sort of a master of disguise and can mimic anybody, I he was always pretty proud of his Australian heritage or rather he never really tried to hide that part of himself when he was being Zartan.

Robert Downey Jr. can do the Aussie accent perfectly.

Really, really looking forward to this movie. I hated the 1st overall [although there were certain things that we at least passable] but I'm getting an overall good vibe from the stuff that I've seen for Retalliation - it looks like past mistakes have been recognised and rectified.

And, hey, there's always the possibility that the only reason Tatum's returning is so we get to see him get killed.
