Newspaper punished for photo of Jesus holding a cigarette

If I was Jesus, I'd just stick a cigar in my nail-wound so I wouldn't have to hold it, and smoke it thadda way.

While I agree that it was offensive and they should be persecuted, I do give the paper credit for recognizing their mistakes and apologizing in such a fast manner.

You're a ****ing TOOL.:down

i seriously dont get all the hubub over this guy named 'jesus'. if you are offended by that, you are already brainwashed, and there is no hope for the future. hurrah ignorance!

Pathetic, anyone who takes offence at this should really grow up. The fact that people with families will lose money over this is astonishing.

God religeon sucks.

I was the under the impression that free speech and press is a good thing. Silly me. :whatever:

Freedom of the press is over-rated. Everytime I see a reporter hanging around outside of the house of a person who's family member was in some horrible accident, I want that freedom revoked.

Some things should just be left alone. A month of no publication is indeed a harsh penalty, but I'm glad steps were taken nonetheless. IMO, of course.

Everytime I see a reporter dragged through the mud for breaking a news story that someone didn't want broken, I want that freedom to stick around.

so you want the government to control the press?

forget the guys name, but in philly, he was like charged with beating up his mother, and some news reporter came and started badgering him, so he opens the door, in only a bath robe, and flashes the camera. the look on the reporters face was priceless. ill look for it on youtube if i remember the guys name.

That all depends on the news story.

No, I want the press to act like respectable people instead of vultures who use the excuse of "the people need to know" to invade the privacy of others. It's a thin line, but I do feel that sometimes the press has too much freedom.
