Next Batman Villain?

Don't lie you know DeVitos was awesome.

He was a great Penguin and even the great Jack Nicholson noted the fact in a tribute.

What do you think for a Penguin main enemy / Mad Hatter as secondary enemy? Not much love for him here but he is still a classic character & with his techno genius criminal mind that is at least a start for good writers out there.

:woot:

I don't know if their personae would really go well together. I mean, there's nothing about one that really complements the other.

What I was thinking was to maybe have Penguin, as a mob boss, manipulate guys like Riddler and Freeze into doing his dirty work for him as a distraction for Batman, sort of playing both sides against each other. Then, maybe in the sequel, have Joker, this upstart with a scary reputation, come in and start bossing around Penguin, like the Big Bad meeting a Bigger Bad. Sort of like when he comes in in TDK, except with Penguin in Lao's place.

Penguin and Black Mask fighting to be #1 of Gotham's underworld.

The Riddler fascinated by Bats and trying to find out who he really is.

So, three villains but no lame team-ups.

I think a Court of Owls film could be epic, but not as the first movie. I would mainly want to see more super-powered villains, like Freeze, Ivy or Clayface, just to make it as different as possible to what Nolan did.

The Court of Owls might be the biggest let downs in modern Batman and a terrible story for the most part (forgiveable, being a frankenstein story).

Ah.. no thanks. Freeze or Ivy need a great treatment they're different to what Nolan did.

Clayface and Hugo Strange.

I think it's between Penguin, Riddler, and Hugo Strange.

I think Hugo Strange or Penguin would be the best to start with. I would probably start with Hugo Strange.

I would have penguin in the second film. riddler the third. And then Joker in the 4th.

I think they need to have the joker have a presence through films 2-whatever. Harly Quinn needs to be involved as well.

I really want to see a more traditional take on The Penguin.
I really wish they would have used him in the Nolan series as one of the crime bosses.

IMO Ian McShane would be a perfect Penguin and kind of plays him in Deadwood.

My choice for the next movie would be all of them. I don't need origin movies for every villain. I just have to know that this is their gimmick and they look cool. Maybe an origin is hinted at for Clayface or The Riddler but not shown.

While I loved the Nolan movies, I still felt that it was the "its your turn" type of showcase of the villains. I want a community of villains in the next movie.

Damn, all those names look good to me. Gotta love Batmans rogue gallery.

I don't know if she's the best choice for next, but Harley Quinn. I'd kill to see Harley Quinn. Not a huge fan of Riddler but him with a Mob boss or female villain is probably the way to go. People have been patient for Riddler.

This is incorrect.

I hope this franchise will be open end like the Bond franchise before the "Casino Royale" reboot. This way we could get several rogues without the movies being too crowded.

Villains I want to see for the first time on the big screen:
Hugo Strange
The Mad Hatter (even if it's just a minor role)
Killer Croc
Clayface
Black Mask
Firefly (minor role or cameo)
Deadshot

Villains I wanna see again:
The Joker
The Riddler
The Scarecrow
Two-Face
The Penguin
Mr Freeze
Poison Ivy
Catwoman

Black Mask is the leader of Gotham's underworld, Penguin wants control of it but many of his gang are getting taken out by the Batman. Penguin hires Deathstroke to take care of Batman. Meanwhile, Black Mask wants revenge on Bruce Wayne for taking control of his company Sionis Industries and hires Deadshot to take care of Wayne. FOUR villains.

The whole movie Bruce/Batman is constantly watching his back, he's never safe.

What about both villains are hiring Deadshot without knowing that the other did as well - and of course Deadshot himself does not know that he is not hunting two different persons?

Hmm. I like that idea better.

To give it more of a comic book feeling I've always wanted to see some short cameos of some (minor) rogues sitting in Arkham. Or just some doors with nameplates on it like Jervis Tetch, Garfield Lynns or even Harvey Dent. And of course a nameplate with "Identity: Unknown" on it. The GA wouldn't care or even notice this. But it would be cool for us fans.

The more I think about it, the more I'd actually really love for "The Court of Owls" to be adapted into a film storyline. It doesn't need to be a straight rip, you could work in some other elements, but I think the basic structure of that comic story is very cinematic. And they should get Casey Affleck to play Mayor Lincoln March. :cwink:

I don't care as long as we get a live action version of this:

Start with Freeze, whose birth is collateral damage in a hit against whoever he's working for. Then in no particular order: Riddler, Black Mask, Joker, Clayface, Killer Croc, Mutant Leader, Deadshot and some of the assassins from Arkham Origins.

I like the idea of establishing a villain community, but you do need to have a primary bad guy to keep the story focused. The Joker would be the obvious choice, and maybe throw Riddler, Penguin, Freeze, and/or Two-Face in there somewhere.

Im sure Affleck's directing, so im gonna say it'll be down to Riddler and Penguin. WB will suggest those two characters (in that order) to Ben or ANY director that takes the job. They're big in pop culture, and massive for marketing, Riddler especially. But they'll also give Ben a lot of freedom. Maybe even as much as Nolan. So if he wants to choose the Joker or a couple of obscure villains, they might let him do it. But I can see Ben not getting too fantastical. And there's a huge chance that Riddler/Penguin will be characters that Affleck will get excited about anyway once WB suggest them.

Using one of those two characters seems like the right direction. I think Joker needs a break. A reference would be cool but for the first solo movie, it's going to be like 10 years after TDK...they can wait longer.
