NFL - Game On

They should bring back Flacco. Too bad he's with the Colts this year. :(
Assuming the year keeps looking like this, Browns are going to have to do something in off-season. Whether it be get a rookie in 1st round or look at the market. I off hand don't even know who is due to hit the market, but probably won't be anyone better than say a Kirk Cousins type at best

I had fun watching the Browns with Baker. I've been to the Browns stadium and all the fans were pretty chill. Lions & Browns I pull for if it doesn't directly interfere with the Raiders (lol) but Deshaun has been a terrible addition. When can they move on from him? Or is it a Russel Wilson situation?
That last year with Baker was a toxic experience. Baker nor the team handled it well. I honestly think it ending that way humbled Baker and grew him up in a way he needed. I think had he stayed, we still would be in that toxic sphere with him. So in the end I am not mad the Browns moved on. But the Watson alternative hasn't worked out. I wish personally they had instead kept Baker for that 5th year and used the draft capital to move up and get a rookie and sit them a season.

Man the Browns holy cow seriously it's compounded by the fact that Mayfield is thriving in TB that stint with McVay did wonders for him
respect the hell out of Baker for his Journey

See, the Baker thing doesn't compound anything for me cause I legitimately don't think the current version of Baker would be the Baker playing now if he stayed in Cleveland. I think Baker would have been the same hot and cold QB he was in Cleveland. So I don't sit there watching him play and wishing we still had him or anything. I am wishing right now that they had used the Watson draft capital to maybe instead have traded up for another young QB. Watson is cooked clearly, unless something changes. So my hope is they can win in spite of him and maybe make a move to get a high draft pick. It's going to be only way I can see the QB situation improving for them longterm. Sure they can try and find another guy who maybe does what Flacco did, but that's a 1 or 2 season fix. Bandaid. They need to look for a long term solution. At this point, I think that means biting the bullet and drafting. Which is going to cost them some draft capital, but I see no alternatives

BTW, if anyone has directv, you know they are in a dispute with Disney and don't have channel 7 or ESPN channels (at least they didn't yesterday). I went ahead and signed up for a free 3 week trial for YouTube TV so I could watch MNF and some college games. I don't like the interface and my son just started working for Spectrum, so I'm gonna switch as he can get some really good pricing.

As a Bucs fan, I love Baker. Dude is a baller and everyone in the locker room loves him. We lucked out.

The 49ers are so close, lol!!!! Is 3rd time the charm for Shanahan and co? We shall see. But they look good

49ers look like the same team. Might be their last real chance, let's see if the same guy who has thwarted them is on the other side. They should be able to beat literally everyone else.

The Jets look like Rodgers' last year with the Packers. Decent. Primed to just barely miss the playoffs or get their ass kicked in the Wild Card. I still think Robert Saleh is the first coach fired this season.

Another Watson suit/allegation. This time not a massage. This time just full on alleged assault of a victim he was going on a date with. The details are awful. Browns....I already wasn't really for having this kind of human on the team and was already having issues rooting for the team to win with him playing (it was easier to do when he was hurt lol). But you're making it impossible for me to root for this so long as he is on it. So, I think I may be actively rooting against them this season until he's gone

Apparently if this triggers a suspension from the League, the Browns may be able to void his contract. But that's hardly the big takeaway. But it would be nice to see this scumbag lose that money. Just as a karmic reward.

And yes, the Browns deserve every bit of bad karma here lol.

A karmic and practical one. He got rewarded for being a sex pest. Would be nice for him to see actual harm for it.

it's mind boggling that this keeps happening to athletes when so many warnings the leagues gives them during rookie orientation
hard to have any empathy for them

Possibly the worst trade in sports history
Maybe, but we do have Joe Barry Carroll (who wasn't a bad player) for Robert Parrish and Kevin McHale....

Prolly the Cleveland trade was worse. LOL

I know there's been some bad trades, but I'm kinda blanking on a worse one than this one......
It's either this or Walker being traded to Dallas cause Walker turned into Aikman, Smith, and Irvin and made the Cowboys a dynasty. Football wise, I say Walker. But factoring in morality, it's a toss up

Josh Allen continues to make the Dolphins a jabroni so it's mostly a safe bet to bet on the Allen lead Bills to defeat the Dolphins.
The Dolphins made the Bills look like the 1985 Bears defense or the Dallas Doomsday Defense because of making Tua and the Dolphins offense look mostly anemic, also an entertaining dumpster fire because the Bills bulldozed the Dolphins in Miami which was an unforgettable dumpster fire.
