NFL - Game On

Some teams have to rebuild their teams and some have to rebuild their coaching staffs. :funny: This is a good problem to have and is a result of success.

congrats to detroit coaches for getting these jobs and recognition they deserve, but man, ouch for detroit to lose that strong group too

also, i hate to hear Andrews was getting death threats. i'm extremely sad about his drops, but he dropped what, 4 balls all season? coming off a season where he broke his leg?
let's not forget Lamar threw an interception and after his fumble, the bills scored a TD.

Oh Christ.....some people need to get a Fing life. If everyone on the team played well, they wouldn't have needed to go for two. Andrews is a very, very good TE and is beating himself up over a play that wouldn't have ensured a victory anyway. We don't need to pile on. S*** happens. The Rams could have beaten Philly except they made some horrific plays that resulted in turnovers, but no one is threatening those folks.

It's a freaking game.....

NFC Championship Game
Commanders At Eagles
The Commanders have overachieved with a rookie QB, however, I'm hopeful this is the Playoff game where the Commanders get outplayed, along with Daniels can't lead the Commanders to a victory even if he does play flawlessly.
The reasons being Barkley is going to be challenging to contain, Brown is a deep threat that is unlikely for the Commanders to contain, and Hurts being a solid game manager is achievable.

AFC Championship Game
Bills at Chiefs

The Allen-era Bills are winless vs the Chiefs in the NFL Playoffs, however, the Bills can realistically defeat the Chiefs if they make fewer critical mistakes, along with the Bill's defense getting pressure on Mahomes, and Allen executing critical plays in a competitive game.
It's a coin flip game that could go either way with the team making less critical mistakes including has fewer turnovers is most likely to win.

It's official. Set to be the oldest coach in NFL history.

I feel bad for him. He's going from one bad organization to another. He was NOT responsible for the Jets woes, but I guess it's true that S*** rolls downhill.

I wish him luck because he's gonna need it.

He's a very young "old". :funny:

If the Raiders can really do something about their front office, we'll be set.....

Oh yeah, he doesn't really look or act like a 70 year old man. He's got more energy than most people in their 50s-60s haha!

I think Brady has made solid decisions for the Raiders already. Spytek as GM, Carroll as HC. Need to get a youngish OC to maybe learn under Carroll to take his spot.

Carroll's real strength lies in his defensive expertise. He built a downright nasty defense in Seattle. They have a lot of draft capital and I'm keeping a close eye on the possibilities. The Raiders really weren't terrible on both sides of the ball, but they need is some shoring up just about everywhere. Maybe we can find one of those QBs in the 2nd or 3rd round that becomes a solid starter. They lucked out with Russell Wilson so who knows. Where they are positioned now, I think you look for edge, tackle, DB, WR, and, of course, QB......hey I DID say shoring up everywhere. Some of this can be fixed in FA and I tend to like O line and interior D line because they can be signed to reasonable contracts. Get Crosby some help on the edge (Carter if he's there....which I kind of doubt) and it helps everywhere. I think a ninja wideout is a big need. The passing game could be pretty deadly with one more weapon; if you've got a QB that can get the ball to them.

both teams play each other and are trying to get it played at the philly stadium

I can see it as a possibility. Not a fan of it, but it is what it is. I'd like to see them bring a younger QB in. I could see Justin Fields too... Maybe whichever QB the Steelers let go of? Haha.

I'd much, MUCH prefer Fields, but I don't think the Steelers let him go. He is pretty reasonablly priced as QBs go ($25M). "Maybe" the Steelers trade him? Wilson just has a limit on him (and I don't like him LOL). He can't make the team better anymore. Fields has much more upside.

I think they will still end up drafting a QB. If they don't land a QB in the 1st round, I think Jalen Milroe ends up a Raider. Could be way off, but I can see it. There's a few other QBs that will go in later rounds that could end up being decent too.

Yeah, I thought they should have gotten Fields last year, but they brought in Luke Getsy as OC (Fields former OC in Chicago) probably made him less than enthused about possibly going to the Raiders.

Some coaching hire thoughts:

Cowboys - typical Jerry being cheap. That team will always be all talk no bite as long as he owns the team. Just doesn't care enough about winning.

Raiders - Pete being there is shockingly weird, but kinda cool. What a division for coaches. Fascinated by that whole thing.

Jags - What a bizarre situation that is

Bears - Good hire. What I wanted. I hope Johnson does well.

Patriots - I like Vrable a lot, but not sure I want him for my team. I wanted an offensive guy to really move the team/organization forward. Especially since they're bringing Josh back. It's just a better variation of what they did last year. Krafts too worried about being comfortable instead of trying to be forward thinking. The interview process was a joke and they should be embarrassed by the whole thing. Regardless, I just hope it means that their floor is higher than their ceiling was this year. I can't do another sub-5 win year. This team needs to win at least 8 games next season with their easy schedule.

You watch.....the Pats are going to make a big jump this year. They need to fix that O line and have the cap space to do it. They need to go after some established linemen and protect their star-in-the-making QB. If they can pick up a couple of pieces, I think their line will improve dramatically. If Carter is available at #4, I jump all over him. I know you don't want Hunter, but I think they go with him or Carter....one of them is going to be there.

They've go some good draft capital (similar to the Raiders) and can really help themselves. They are kind of like the Raiders because they need shoring up in a lot of places, but they've got their QB. I freaking love Drake.

I can see a path for them to be a playoff team.

Exactly. My problem isn't these calls, it's the inconsistency among refs. If a defender hits Mahomes in the helmet after he throws it should be a 15 yard penalty. If a defender hits Drew Lock in the helmet after he throws, it should be a 15 yard penalty.

Giving one QB special treatment over the other is one reason why the internet is going crazy. It's practically manipulating the game in my eyes.

The refs for tonight's Bills/Chiefs game are under the biggest microscope probably in NFL history. They had better hope they call this game right down the line.

Another big penalty problem is holding calls. I don't know how many videos I've watched of Chiefs lineman holding so Mahomes can scramble for a big gain. Of course I haven't seen any videos of the opposing team if they're getting those same calls, but if Mahomes is getting those roughing the passer calls and other teams aren't, it makes you wonder.
