Level-5 has updated the official Japanese website for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom with new screenshots and information on Higgledie Leaders, advice from Lofty during battle, and a teaser for the kingdom-building Kingdom Mode.

Get the information below.

? Higgledie Leaders
Ni-no-Kuni-II_06-29-17_001.jpg
If you look closely enough, you’ll see a slightly stylish Higgledie among a group of Higgledies. This is the “Higgledie Leader.” There are various types of Higgledie Leaders.
—The Higgledie Leader brings together a big group of Higgledies. A circle can be made around the Fire Higgledies, and a special icon will be shown above the Higgledie Leader.
Ni-no-Kuni-II_06-29-17_002.jpg
—If you issue an order to the Fire Higgledies, they will form a dome-shaped defense barrier around Evan.
Ni-no-Kuni-II_06-29-17_003.jpg
—The defense barrier negates the the damage Evan receives. By making appropriate use of Higgledie Leaders in this way, you can fight through battles more with an upper hand.
Ni-no-Kuni-II_06-29-17_004.jpg
Depending on the Higgledie Leader, the role of the Higgledies will significantly change.
? Lofty’s Advice
Lofty will sometimes give you battle advice. When the enemy is down is your chance to strike! Use skills to deal heavy damage.

? Kingdom Mode
By introducing new people of talent and technology to the kingdom established by Evan, you can receive various benefits on your adventure and in battle. By assigning people of talent to the right places, you can develop the kingdom more efficiently.
Ni-no-Kuni-II_06-29-17_007.jpg
In order to develop your kingdom, you must focus not only on the castle, but manage the various facilities and people of talent around the castle. Since developing the kingdom results in a more favorable journey for the player, be sure to build up your kingdom.
Ni-no-Kuni-II_06-29-17_008.jpg
As for how you will build your kingdom, more information will be shared in a future update.
If you missed it, read our previous information blasts here and here.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC on November 10.

Ni no Kuni II details Thalassea, Capstan Upon Hull, Kingmaker Brineskimmer, Kingdom Mode, and skirmishes
Published 3 hours ago. 14 comments.
The latest information from the game's official website.
Level-5 has updated the official Japanese website for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom with new screenshots and information on the water country of Thalassea, the port town of Capstan Upon Hull, a new Kingmaker named Brineskimmer, Kingdom Mode, and skirmishes.
Get the information below.

? World
Thalassea
NnK2_08-22-17_001.jpg
Thalassea, a water country ruled by the beautiful Queen Homedias. It is said to be a country of strict law enforcement and control, and whose people are constantly monitored by the “Eye of the Queen” that projects from the sea.

Celius
“The prosperity of this kingdom is a result of the power of Her Majesty the Queen.”

NnK2_08-22-17_002.jpg
A close associate of Queen Homedias of Thalassea. He is frighteningly sharp, but is no match for the Queen, who ends up stomping on him with high heels. He is cold enough to make extremely “strategic” judgments.

Homedias
“Why would the populace gather for an inexperience man like yourself?

NnK2_08-22-17_003.jpg
The beautiful queen that rules over Thalassea. She keeps the people in order with various strict laws, but keeps the country at peace through the skills of Celius. There is a major secret known only by the Queen and Celius, which is connected to the reason she imposes such strict laws.

Capstan Upon Hull

NnK2_08-22-17_004.jpg
Capstan Upon Hull is a small port town that makes a living off the shipbuilding business. There seem to be skilled shipbuilders here. However, the town has few people and an unusual atmosphere. It seems that some sort of accident occurred here.

? Characters
Boddly
“The ‘Divine Boddly National Archive’ does not allow first time customers. Please go home.”

NnK2_08-22-17_005.jpg
Age unknown. Director of the Goldpaw National Archives. As someone who has been handed down the history of Ni no Kuni, she is said to be a living history book, and tells Evan and company of “The Legend of Brahavan.”

? Kingmakers
Brineskimmer, a Kingmaker

NnK2_08-22-17_006.jpg
The Kingmaker of Thalassea. At the bottom of the sea, there is a king’s cradle that rarely manifests. Brineskimmer can swim around freely in the sea, and specializes in water and ice attacks. It is accompanied by a servant called “Odis, the Sea God,” who also possesses great power.
? Kingdom Mode
Estavania, the Country Established by Evan

NnK2_08-22-17_007.jpg
Expand your territory, construct buildings, and put talented individuals to work!
NnK2_08-22-17_008.jpg
Weapon and armor production workshops, magic research establishments, shops… by constructing buildings and putting talented individuals to work within them, you can produce the items and abilities necessary for Evan’s journey.
Assemble talented individuals from the world of Ni no Kuni!
A country is defined by its people. As a country gets bigger, its people multiply, and as its people multiply, the country gets bigger. In order to increase your country’s power, it is necessary to gain the trust of the people as king and give everyone the thought, “I want to live in Estavania.” Scouting talented individuals will contribute significantly to the development of your country.
? Skirmishes
NnK2_08-22-17_010.jpg
In Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, there are “skirmishes” different from your usual adventure during which it is necessary to advance as a country and as an army against enemies and monsters.
During a skirmish, the entire field becomes the battlefield.
Rotate Between Four Units!

A strategic brawl! Units have affinities. Controlling the better army class is the key to victory. Rotate your units and respond to the challenge of the approaching enemies!
Turn the Tables!
Each commanding officer has their own tactics. Make skillful use of these tactics to win the battle.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC on January 19. If you missed it, catch the Gamescom 2017 trailer here.

Bandai Namco has released a new, 25-minute gameplay video of the upcoming Level-5-developed action RPG Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom.

The video consists of two parts:
The Battle for the Heartlands (0:00 to 7:35)
Evan has overcome the trials of the king’s cradle and forged a bond with a kingmaker. Now all he needs is a kingdom to rule. He begins to make his way to the uninhabited territory of the Heartlands in the hopes of establishing his realm there, but finds the path blocked by a swarm of bloodthirsty bandits. There’s only one way through—to arms!

One Good Turn Deserves Another (7:35 to 25:07)
Determined to prove his right to rule, Evan is on his way to take a trial at the king’s cradle when both he and Roland are captured by sky pirates. Just when it seems certain they will be put to death, a young girl named Tani swoops in to grant them a stay of execution. Soon after, our heroes are taken to the sky pirates’ base, where their fate will be decided by Batu, the leader of this bloodthirsty band.

Meet Broadleaf President and inventor Musaka.

Level-5 has updated the Japanese official website for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom with more information and screenshots of the game’s world, its kingdom creation mode, and additional elements like a Facebook-style social media platform called “Leaf Book.” A new behind the scenes developer diary was also released.
Get the details below.
? The World of Ni no Kuni
? Thalassea
(Catch up on our previous coverage of Thalassea here.)
—Thalassea is an extremely beautiful town surrounded by water, but the citizens are always under the watch of the “Eye of the Queen.” Its temperature is high, but it is surprisingly easy to live easy to live because of the clear weather. There are many restricted actions under the thorough reign of Queen Homedias. For that reason, problems themselves are unlikely to occur. There are some who question the politics of the queen, but the high consul subdues any such resistance on the spot, “solving” the peoples’ dissatisfaction each time.

? Broadleaf

Ni-no-Kuni-II-Revenant-Kingdom_2018_01-26-18_005.jpg

Broadleaf is a corporate giant country. Originally, it was a small country with dense forests, but with the innovative inventions of President Musaka, it developed into a rare science power in the world of Ni no Kuni. There is a sky-high company office building tower known as the “Intelligence Big Tree,” where all of the country’s functions are consolidated.

President Musaka

“If the Magical Fusion Reactor is completed, the world will change. And then I will rule this world.”

Ni-no-Kuni-II-Revenant-Kingdom_2018_01-26-18_008.jpg

An inventor who grew Broadleaf from a small company into a corporate giant country over the span of several decades. He is ambitious and has an inquiring mind, but is not bound by religion or moral value. He is forcing the people to complete his “Magical Fusion Reactor” without concern for their sacrifices. There are frequent protests by those that oppose his system.

—The land where Broadleaf was founded is a place where many high energy materials called “Magic Ores” lie dormant. Musaka’s innovative inventions made it possible to use the energy of Magic Ores, leading the country to develop into a major power. However, the reduction of Magic Ores has become a problem, and the development of a new energy is a pressing matter.

? Battle System

Balmodine, a Kingmaker

Ni-no-Kuni-II-Revenant-Kingdom_2018_01-26-18_013.jpg
The Kingmaker of Broadleaf. He is determined and inquisitive, and is more interested in his own growth than being a good Kingmaker. Some of the armaments on his back were created by himself, and some were given to him by Musaka.

? Kingdom Mode
(Catch up on our previous coverage of Kingdom Mode here.)
By bringing new talented individuals and technology into the kingdom established by Evan, you can gain various benefits that will be useful on your adventure and in battle. By assigning the right people to the right places, you can develop your kingdom with greater efficiency.
In order to develop the kingdom you build, you will manage not only the castle, but also various facilities and talented individuals outside the castle, and commit to the kingdom’s development. You can move forward on your journey with a greater advantage by developing the kingdom, so be sure to build a kingdom all your own.

  • Step 1: Use Kingdom Gold (KG) to construct facilities.
  • Step 2: Assign the talented individuals you scouted to the proper facilities.
  • Step 3: Move forward with research at your facilities. You can acquire new magic and manufacture new weapons.
By repeating this cycle, the kingdom’s power will rise, and Evan’s country of Estavania will significantly develop.
Step 1: Use Kingdom Gold (KG) to construct facilities.
—Use Kingdom Gold (KG) to construct facilities like weapon workshops and magic research labs.

Talented individuals have parameters called “Development Power,” which includes “Military,” “Technology,” “Spirit,” and “Magic,” as well as fields of expertise. Scout a lot of talented individuals and place them in the facilities that suit them best.

A look at the gambling country.

NnK2-Goldpaw-Tour_02-12-18.jpg
Bandai Namco has released a short new trailer for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom that tours the in-game city of Goldpaw.

As previously detailed, Goldpaw is a country where everything is decided by dice. Gambling is regarded as the country’s key enterprise. It has a thriving casino industry and many tourists visit to go to the casino. Dice are also used when it comes to trials and the country’s major decisions. When there is an especially important decision to be made, a huge bronze statue called “Lady Luck” shakes the dice before the people. The only ones who can roll the dice are astrologers, and Goldpaw’s king, Pugnacius, is the top one among them.

If anyone is interested, here's a video of the Trail of Knowledge environmental puzzle. It is a slight spoiler (not story-wise, but puzzle-wise) but if you want to see another thing the game offers, here you go.

The first of two major downloadable content releases for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom part of the game’s Season Pass is called “The Ghost King’s Labyrinth,” the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.

The story sees players take on King Lamikyl of the ruined kingdom Endrance, which is considered the cause of the evil miasma that attacked the world of Ni no Kuni. It will also add new equipment and a new “Gokui (Mysterious Arts) System” to the battle system.

A release date was not announced.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC.

Thanks, Ryokutya2089.

(Editor’s Note: “The Ghost King’s Labyrinth,” “Lamikyl,” “Endrance,” and “Mysterious Arts” are not official localized names.)
