Nicolas Cage, the Hollywood actor, has revealed an unusual diet in which he eats meat only from animals that mate in a dignified way.

The 46-year-old, whose most recent role is a drug-addled policeman in Bad Lieutenant, said he doesnt eat because he does not like the way they have sex.
A report in The Sun said Cage, who won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas, ate fish and fowl.
He told the newspaper: "I love all animals. I have a fascination with fish, birds, whales - sentient life - insects, reptiles.
"I actually choose the way I eat according to the way animals have sex. I think fish are very dignified with sex. So are birds.
"But pigs, not so much. So I don't eat pig meat or things like that. I eat fish and fowl."
Cage, who lives in New Orleans, where Bad Lieutenant is set, has a reputation for eccentric behaviour and once owned a pet octopus.
He said he was "terrified" during filming because of his superstition about working in his home town.
"I have a love/ hate relationship with the city of New Orleans, which is the strongest kind of relationship," he said. "It's where I live and I feel both cursed and blessed in New Orleans so I was quite terrified to go back and make a movie there.
"Originally the picture was going to be shot in Detroit and I needed to take it to New Orleans and confront whatever head-trip it would be," he said. "And I'm very happy to say that it worked.
