Nicolas Cage to get.....Left Behind

This is why you don't spend millions of dollars on expensive comic books. Even really cool collector items :D .

I've always found the rapture the funniest thing in Christian lore, so this should be hilarious.

Though would anyone really notice a difference?

Only Evangelicals would get "raptured", so aside from everyone in the South going missing, most of the world would be unchanged, right?

I'm not religious, but I thought the Left Behind books were pretty good. I never finished the series though lol. I imagine for the mainstream adaptation they'll make it a little less "preachy"

Oh, Christ!

See what I did there? :oldrazz:

Maybe to make it more mainstream God will be replaced by aliens and instead of taking Christians they'll kids and ooooooooh wait .... he already made that movie.

Surely he won't play Buck. Idgaf Kirk Cameron OWNED that role!

I think you and me are the only two people who saw that movie.

Considering the rapture is made up and not part of the bible this has always made me laugh. I want to see Cage doing this, it will be hilarious

You'd be surprised how many people believe it. I've met Catholics who believe it (didn't know it was a limited Protestant thing).

To be fair, even a lot of writers forget that it's just a limited Protestant thing.

The books were lambasted outside the US for their strong fundamentalist and anti-catholic slant.

Don't even get me started. I grew up in a Christian home. People take that **** so seriously.

Nic Cage doing the rapture sounds too good to be true. Hellllll yes.

I remember I started reading these books back in maybe '05 or so and got my mom into it. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. She believes this stuff. I try to explain to her that it's fiction but she just won't have it. It's infuriating lol

Millions believe in the rapture and have since the 1800s. Youre fighting an uphill battle lol.

You'd think the fact that we've gone 19 centuries without it happening would make some people realize it isn't going to happen.

God's plan is unknowable and no man can know the hour of his return. See the problem is they try to make events in the world fit into these signs and think that we are in a world getting worse. They look to the 'rise' in homosexuality and wars as signs. But homosexuality was far more common in ancient times and wars were a way of life. They would **** a brick if they spent one day in ancient rome.

Every generation has a bias toward the importance of their specific time period as being of world-ending significance.

As for Cage, jeez. He must really need money.

Yeah, we've been living in the "end times" since Year 1.

Well I don't recall the word rapture there is mention of being called away. I guess it's open to interpretation.

Cage is dangerously close to being a direct to dvd star.

I'm really surprised Cage hasn't landed a leading role on TV. Very few shows on television would be worse than some of the films he's done in recent years.

I want to see Nicholas Cage play Buck, AS Kirk Cameron. That would be the most twisted, batsh** crazy performance ever.

I hope to God the movie will be as full of unintenional humor as The Wicker Man. That movie was so awful but some of the more ridiculous scenes made up for it. I dont think Ive ever laughed harder at a woman getting her face beaten in by a man than in that movie.
