I hope nintendo is able to get their online act together enough that we can soon get expansions like with 360. The news about the MUA Heroes and Villains pack pissed me off, I have the game for Wii, and don't own a 360, and I would love to have those 8 characters as well, but Nintendo doesn't do that kind of downloadable content. Hopefully when Nintendo starts to get the online games ready, they can focus on this as well.

Word. I think the next step is downloadable demos. All this free content for xbox live and this is the best we have? Embarrasing.

Sure, if Nintendo wants to do it, then why not? But until then, I think downloadable content and the like are luxuries that you have to pay for. This obviously comes into conflict with its service being free. But then again, we currently have Wii Channels that are free to download, and WiiConnect24 certainly seems to be perfectly suited for downloadable content. Come to think of it, I think I remember Nintendo saying that they are going to be using WiiConnect24 like that.

Personally, I'm more interested in how they'll implement actual online games. If the rumors are any indication, it is going to be set up exactly the DS', which can be bad news to some, or neutral news to others. I personally don't mind, as long as Nintendo's (IMO) superior multiplayer games are online in the first place :oldrazz: .

For the Xbox Live on the 360, all you have to pay for is the Gold Account which lets the user do the multiplayer. The Silver Account which is free, has everything that the Gold has except 1) multiplayer and 2) the user has to wait a week to download the new stuff.

Of course, the user still has to buy a 360 and pay their monthly internet bill

How much is the gold account?

Oh.

I just like the single-player download content (like the extra level for the first Splinter Cell or the extra missions for GTA 4).

I had an interest in multiplayer, then I played Half-Life online. After 10 minutes I said "That's it?" and went back to the single-player.

So if game companies take an interest in providing downloadable content other than new multiplayer maps for consoles, I'm all for that.

I agree. Open the Virtual Console out to download game demos and expansions- that's the first step.

I suppose memory's a big problem. Would help if they allowed us to connect external hard drives to the Wii.

Really, I just want some playable demos. Take 360 for example. The Crackdown is the first thing I'm going to buy after I get a 360. Demo are fantastic ways to let the audience to know whats the deal with your product. Normally, I wouldnt have given Crackdown a second glance, but there it was on my friend's xbox. Now, I cant stop playing it when I'm over.

They should have the first level of Super Mario Galaxy or Super Smash Bros. Brawl released in the summer and hype the game.

Yeah, it's $50 per year.
