No Elfman score?

Unfortunately, that is true. But I believe Raimi owns the rights to the Main Theme and Final Swing theme, so we should at least get those.

They got into a big fight during the scoring of SM2. Sam wanted something different for the train sequence and used it, Elfman got mad and left.

Fear not, some of the score for SM2 isn't Elfman's and Sony owns all of the music from SM1 and SM2 so they can use the best of it and the new guy can add his own touch. He's very good.

Yea, I remember reading about Spider-Man 2, that it was similar to the Superman 2 director situation- Elfman wanted to up things a notch and Raimi said no way. They fought about it, so Elfman was fired and they reused his stuff from Spidey 1 (I think you can still buy his Spidey 2 stuff though, which is supposed to be very good... I hope its half as good as Batman Returns). And now we have Spidey 3 going a different route, which sucks, because Elfman would be by far the best for scoring a darker story like this that delves into duality and certain dichotomies.

That's a good point about the film being darker and Elfman being good at that kind of stuff (Edward Scissorhands, Batman), but he can also be a little too wacky.

This new guy will be fine. He's not Elfman, but he will be fine. Raimi used him in 2 and he trusts him, that's enough for me. When Spidey becomes Spidey again, the SM2 score will be great, and his new stuff will be good.

I haven't been hiding under a rock but I have been busy. Spidey info is so sparse nowadays that I don't come to the Spidey boards/sites that often.
