No Emmy nominations for The Spectacular Spider-Man

That really stinks. SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN really deserved the nomination. I've seen such inferior drivel win.

So far, SS-M has been nominated for one other award, a 2009 ANNIE AWARD to Sean Galloway for his character designs.

Good point. Really, if it keeps on, it probably will, especially since you can enjoy the show even if you don't especially like Spider-Man or comics... or cartoons... or television.

It seems to me that WARNER BROTHERS DC cartoons usually aren't as snubbed by the Emmy people than Marvel cartoons. It may be a bit of an old boy's club; WB is a bigger fish to TV than Marvel is. More of an "animation history" and all. A lot of the Timm ones happened to be very good and deserving, like BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES and BATMAN BEYOND, but just saying.

Disney shelled out the most cash to air SS-M, which is why CW 4kids lost it. It remains to be seen whether they're willing to shell out more for a third season. Second season episodes haven't aired in the U.S. yet, so right now they're essentially airing reruns that have been on TV over a year. Frankly "average" ratings should be expected. We'll have to see how things move once Season 2 starts, and what kind of promotion it gets.

For my money, I do wonder why Disney XD isn't willing to shell out ads in Marvel comics, like Marvel themselves are smart enough to do for WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN and IRON MAN ARMORED ADVENTURES. One would think trying to get a few of the thousands of ASM readers interested in the show would be a no-brainer strategy, especially for DISNEY XD where even, like, 5,000 additional viewers can pump a chart.

Well for one thing it's Marvel putting ads in their own comics. So its a little more difficult for XD. Not saying they couldn't, but the repetitive level of advertising XD has done for Season 2 is inexcusable (Hell Kids WB advertised SSM on freakin milk cartons at schools before it started in March last year, according to my 10-year old cousin). There has yet to be any attempt by them to hype up the "unseen" season 2 episodes as of right now. If XD wants Spectacular Spider-Man to be a worthwhile investment they have to do something with it. Whether it's hyping the episodes with new ads (not the same ones from 2-months ago) or buying new episodes.
