No more Disney DTV sequels!

Well... That's about 10 years too late. Luckily I'll never allow myself to watch any of those crapfests.

Very good news, finally someone in the movie biz makes sense, they do put a smudge on the quality of the original theatrical release.

It's like putting a turd on a picasso. :woot:

I'm just glad they didn't do that to any of my Pixar faves, although there was that Buzz cartoon movie and series it wasn't too bad.

Dude said he had to scrape 30million worth of animation, thats crazy. 30million for an animated flick? Im glad they stopped doing them but that 30million could have been used elsewhere like on PEOPLE.

Something like this was announced a while ago when Disney bought Pixar. Looks like they pretty much finished up the remaining DTVs that were already in production and put an end to it.

Seriously Disney spend billions on Pixar so they could become Pixar's b***h. Which is totally awesome!

Ditto that, that is awesome. At least Pixar is for quality and not just $$$.

This is a great day for cinema, folks

I say bring on The Incredibles 2 with that $30 million.:o:up:

I'm also happy the Tinkerbell movie most likely will never come out.

NO! How will I see "The Little Mermaid III" now??!!! :p

God bless Steve Jobs and John Lasseter! They are going to bring back the Disney glory days when they made movies like "Beauty & the Beast" and "Lion King".

Have you guys heard about Disney's newest animated/live action film, Enchanted?

It looks so ridiculous.

Thank God.. I'm so tired of seeing all these stupid sequels like Little Mermaid 3 and Cinderella 3 :whatever:

I think Little Mermaid 3 is still being made actually.
Since the Broadway show is coming soon, The Little Mermaid 3 will most likely come to movie theaters then.

what they should be doing instead of ****ty sequels and laugh track cookie cutter sitcom shows is quality animated programming.

Ducktales was the ****. Deserves a movie.

From what I understand, Little Mermaid 3 is still being released. I had to sit through Little Mermaid 2 in a movie theater once. Oh, it was painful. :csad:

I don't know if they'll release it in conjunction with the Broadway show. They haven't any big theatrical releases to tie-in with their other B'way shows (Lion King, Tarzan, Beauty & The Beast, Mary Poppins) before, so it doesn't seem all too likely with LM3, especially if they're phasing out the DTV sequels.

Here's another article about the end of DVD-sequels here:

Better late then never. Finally, we're starting to see Disney regain some of their glory!

Praise the saints! My prayers have been answered:D:up:
