Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda says the company will need to look beyond Wii if it is to evolve No More Heroes into a major franchise.

Although Wii commands a greater install base than its rivals, thirdparty games aimed at the core market continue to struggle on the platform, and Suda has aspirations for the franchise he says can’t be satisfied on Nintendo’s console.

“I really want to make NMH a big franchise,” he told us on a recent trip to see No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, “and with this second episode have bigger success. I’m putting a lot of care into developing this IP, as I feel there’s a lot of potential"

“I think this is the last NMH that is going to be developed on Wii,” he added. “To expand NMH to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we’ve done everything we can with it now.”
Our interview with Suda and detailed look at the sequel to last year’s No More Heroes is available in Edge 204, in UK shops tomorrow.

He doesnt say where it will go but it'll most likely be a 360/PS3 title now as well as keeping the series exclusive to the Wii isnt bringing in the numbers. Good move bc I heard great things about the game but never touched it bc it was on the Wii

Actually he's saying that future sequels would be on other consoles. Nowhere in here does he say that NMH2 will be multi platform.

Its already in development for the Wii, but I definetly see them bringing it over to the PS3/360. Especially if the PS3's new motion controller launches in spring as they are aiming for, this could be a good launch title for it

sucks for Nintendo. Oh well. Glad I have a PS3 and a Wii in this case.

I don't think it's a bad thing though, the NMH franchise is good that others should get to enjoy them.

Havok, I don't doubt it'll be ported, but as of now that's just speculation, not fact. It wouldn't surprise me either to see it happen though.

Maybe I'll finally get a chance to see what all the fuss is about.

No surprise.

I never really saw the draw in this. When I saw in a review that you had to do chores like cut grass to make money, I didn't get all excited over it.

That's only one part of the game. There is more of that kind of stuff then there should be, but when you get the main course of the title it makes those things seem overly trivial

I'll play it if it comes to other platforms. NMH looked fun, but I don't have a Wii.

If it comes to the other consoles, get it, you'll love the game Corp, it's right up your alley with the strange and quearkyness.

The rumor is finally confirmed.... sorta. The original is coming to the PS3/360 complete as an enhanced port complete with updated HD graphics and extra content. Im surprised they are actually going back to bring the first game over to these systems bc I thought they'd skip it and go straight to its sequel. Guess they want PS3/360 owners to be exposed to it before They'll probably announce NMH2 after this one drops

November 18, 2009 - Wii owners can no longer claim Suda 51 all to themselves. The highly regarded Japanese game designer will have his work appear on PS3 and Xbox 360 through an enhanced port of No More Heroes.

Famitsu has first details on the title, which goes by the name No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise and is being supervised by Grasshopper Manufacturer, the original's development house. Marvelous Entertainment will be publishing in Japan.

New features for Heroes' Paradise include updated HD visuals (how updated they'll be is the big question, of course, and one that won't be clear until we've seen full resolution images). Marvelous is also giving the game a full Japanese voiceover. The original had an English language track.

Also new for Heroes' Paradise is the "Very Sweet Mode." Unlock this (no, we don't know how -- and we wouldn't tell you either way), and you'll find the game's female cast dressed up in bathing suits and other sexy outfits. That does sound like a sweet mode. A very sweet mode.
The Wii version of No More Heroes made use of motion controls. Famitsu doesn't go into details on what's being done to address this issue for the PS3 and Xbox 360, but it does say to expect a better feel of action.

Japan gets HD No More Heres on February 25. There's no word yet on an international release. However, given the name recognition Suda 51 has amongst gamers worldwide, we wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement in the not-so-distant future.

I don't see this selling that well on the PS3 or 360.

Regardless, I'll definately be buying it.

Its an old game of an unheard franchise. I dont think they will expect to sell great, but will be satisfied if it sells well enough. It probably wasnt too costly for them to just port it over with some new content.

Paradise is finally coming to the US and on the PS3. No shocker, but it will have Move support

Travis Touchdown, the foul-mouthed, beam katana-wielding anime enthusiast, is officially coming to the PlayStation 3 next year. The original No More Heroes, which hit the Wii in 2008, impressed gamers with its over-the-top sense of style, gruesome boss fights, and hilarious video game references. Now, the action is making the jump to the HD space with No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise, exclusive to the PlayStation 3 in North America.

Heroes' Paradise will once again put players in the boots of Travis Touchdown as he fights his way to the top of a ranked assassins association. Heroes' Paradise will include new bosses not available in the original Wii version, as well as PlayStation Move support to keep up the tradition of motion-based attacks.

Heroes' Paradise is scheduled to launch sometime next year. Keep it locked on IGN for more on the wild action game and all your PS3 news.
