(NO SPOILERS) Black Panther Early Tweet Discussion Thread (NO SPOILERS)

Well, what did the Russos ever do to qualify for Captain America? They only directed a few comedies before being brought in for Marvel. Ava has a Academy Award nominated film under her belt at least.

Besides Feige has been all about hiring out of left field directors to direct projects. No one ever expected Taika Waititi to be perfect person to helm a Thor film but here we are.

Thats very true and I should explain myself better. Im not saying its not possible for her to do an amazing job. Im saying if we are discussing who we would like to see take over, Im picking directors who's previous work makes me expect a great BP film. Gray is someone that comes to mind.

One more thing Ill say about Ava though, she did pass on BP. She got the opportunity before it was offered to Coogler and I think she said she wouldnt be able to tell the story she wanted to tell. I respect her position but I feel like she had her chance.

I don't want anyone tackling BP other than Coogler for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, if a director's first movie is a critical smash hit, you shouldn't swap directors unless you really have to.

Coogler moved on from Creed which was a critical success.

No guarantee he returns for the sequel. He's working with Coates on his next film and who knows if he can get that one out in time to still properly prep for Black Panther 2.

He left Creed because he couldn't spend enough time multitasking.

I'd rather have Coogler take the reigns from the Russos on Avengers 5.

Considering the next BP movie likely won't be released until 2021, he can probably do a couple movies before needing to start production on BP2.

I think Coogler will be possessive of the Black Panther franchise like James Gunn is with GotG.

Especially when you develop a kinship with the actors and other artists.

Which means awesome trilogies for us.

Lucky enough to attend a screening of #BlackPanther tonight with @JennaBusch: it’s my favorite @Marvel movie by a wide margin! Cast is stellar, story is great, (and timely!), has a huge heart and @michaelb4jordan’s Killmonger is easily Marvel’s best villain since Loki. Amazing!

How I wish I could
Overstep all embargoed

Yell out all my favorite parts.

Saw #BLACKPANTHER.
Had high expectations.
It’s safe to say this film
Trounced them all.

so... W-O-W

#BlackPanther is freaking amazing. The cast, the visuals, the soundtrack, I genuinely loved it, and I need to see it again. Hopefully Ryan Coogler returns for the sequel, because he is a genius. #WakandaForever

yup the CGI of #BlackPanther is pretty bad but that's literally the only issue that I saw and it is better to have bad CGI than having:
-bad editing
-bad dialogue
-bad villain with no motivation
-bad story
-bad action scenes
-underdeveloped characters
and the list goes on

Chadwick Boseman brings an entirely new dimension to T’Challa and grounds the entire story with necessary weight, but it’s the new characters who shine. Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o and scene stealer Letitia Wright are so so good and their fight scenes are AMAZING.

You’ll get our full @IGN review coming later from @jimvejvoda, but for now I’ll leave this by saying it’s really welcome to have a Marvel movie that has something very conscious it’s trying to say about the world and the way we treat each other. Plus that Kendrick soundtrack

andrealovee_It’s intense, bold and powerful. #blackpanther @marvel Saw it Monday and I’m still not over it. I think everyone needs to see it & see it multiple times ????????*?? #thiscast

I saw the #BlackPanther movie last night, and due to restrictions, that's all I'm allowed to say about this amazing, gorgeous, action-packed origin story of one of Marvel's first black superheroes that I would totally stay through the credits for (hint, hint), if I saw it again.

Ok. So I saw #BlackPanther last night...and...well... IT’S INCREDIBLE!!! The action is insane and Wakanda is awesome. I hope it makes gobs of money so we get Black Panther 2 and 3. Wow.

Totally saw #BlackPanther last night. Totally can’t wait to see it again. Like... whoa.

Saw #BlackPanther and without giving too much away--
It was TERRIFIC.

Despite the presence of gods and godlike beings in the MCU, until #BlackPanther Marvel has never made a film rooted in a worldview informed by a sense of spirituality. Now they have, and it enriches the MCU mythology.

Just saw #BlackPanther and really enjoyed it. I think it will get a great reception. Looking forward to future stories in that world.

Saw this great addition to Marvel Franchise last night. #blackpanther had it all: great story, cast, character development and action. Kudos to the entire cast and Ryan Coogler on blockbuster. As usual, Michael B Jordan flat out awesome! #BlackPantherPremiere #MichaelBJordan

So far the worst reaction we've had is that its "above average" and that its "like a Marvel movie but better".

Yeah, Coogler doesn't really seem like a sequels type of guy. He seemed to have a blast making this though, so who knows?

So this isn't a spoiler but someone has confirmed Bast is in the movie and she speaks. Like I said from the very beginning I bet Phylicia Rashad is doing the voice.

Apparently the film has been screened in France

Yep
#BlackPanther another great success of #Marvel. The proof that we can basically do different superhero movies!

I come out of #BlackPanther and it's a big satisfaction that offers a dive into an extremely rich universe in a classic form but pushpin I overcuffed! Very heavy and there is braised chicken #filmaupouletfilmincontournable

Well, clearly, I did not like #BlackPanther. Cyril, my favorite movie buff, is much more nuanced than me. Complete review tomorrow or Wednesday. We are still under embargo. http://place-to-be.net/index.php/cinema/en-salles/6715-black-panther-realise-by-ryan-coogler ...

I had a lot of fears about this film: origin story, african universe, marvel ... In the end, the film has a crazy class and surprises with an unexpected political and social subtext AND smart ... #BlackPanther
Finally a Marvel film that does not rest on its achievements (humor, the more known avengers) and that proposes a NEW, coherent and centered on his hero. #BlackPanther
After all is not perfect, I have reservations about 2-3 things, but I can not swing everything now u_u. Ah yes: 2 post-gen scenes #BlackPanther
https://twitter.com/SangelesLo/status/960606336449949696

Seen #BlackPanther: Marvel counts in his ranks a "new" hero who throws it. Between tradition and modernity, the film is political and fits perfectly in our time. Main and secondary roles, this time it is these ladies who are aiming for KIFF summits!
Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira are simply GE-NIALES Do not forget also the soundtrack, the costumes, the sets ... that make this #BlackPanther is a real visual escape terribly cheerful Now GO #InfinityWar!

https://twitter.com/JeremyMingot/status/960608118400061440

#BlackPanther: a huge potential, for a major turning point at Marvel ... which finally becomes a (good) classic blockbuster!
https://twitter.com/Enlil_Albanna/status/960603954039148545

Do not spin around the bush, @theblackpanther is simply excellent! Long live the king @ michaelb4jordan ... uh T'Challa #blackpanther cc @MarvelEN
https://twitter.com/Jessie_SVL/status/960603697075118082

#blackpanther a movie of super heroes that is not one and that's good. Big, stylish production where actresses steal headlining. A good Coogler, an excellent Marvel and great entertainment.
https://twitter.com/TD_ScreenReview/status/960603270296326144

Hot notice #BlackPanther: a first very solid adventure, a villain finally worthy of interest in the MCU (thank you Michael B. Jordan), an ultra rich and exotic visual universe and an underlying political message rather surprising but welcome and totally justified. Good!
Rarely seen a Marvel blockbuster, see mm never use his platform to turn entertainment into a militant object. Under the fun the sub-text of the film just hits.
Michael b jordan is incredible of violence and bestiality. It offers the MCU its first real nasty 4 stars. The real strength of his character is that we love him as much as we despise him. Much more subtle than I thought.

Fabulous #BlackPanther. Afro-Shakespeare and technological, literary and hyper iconic. Coogler breaks with the Marvel monotony by putting emphasis, style and real political stakes into the movie superhero. The cast is perfect.

And it's a little something to see a movie of this caliber go deep with his words. Black panther is surprising on the bottom. Conquered.
And the real thing without falling in the pathos qd after years of watching movies or black = sidekick / comic relief or topics to tackle racism via crappy comedies #BlackPanther does a good job. It's just a movie and nothing else, but
Sometimes a simple positive and intelligent representation, it is worth all the gold of the world. And that's where #BlackPanther pulls out of the game. The film is deadly political and cardboard on every point where it engages via killmonger. It's the 1st Marvel that really has substance.
And just for that I say bravo. Ryan Coogler succeeds in perverting the system with the blessing of Marvel. The studio digs a gap consisting of 1 film with its competitors. The renewal the MCU needed so much is here.
And damn that it feels good.

Thanks.

Some of the tweets give more context and more depth, but I guess google translate can only do so much lol.

Guys, let me know if you want to know whats really said in those tweets lol.

lol. I've updated it with a lot more. For those who've already seen that post.

Here's a new one that will be updated.

#BlackPanther is one of the best Marvel. The sets, the costumes, the actors and especially the actresses are perfect. An interesting villain (Micheal B. Jordan) and political themes (but a little overflown for my taste).

Can't listen to any reviews in France. They still hate the fact that the moors ruled that land for so many years. You still see Black peoples pictures all up in that land

Most of them loved it.

Its also the first tweet I see about someone who saw it and didnt like it, but she also said the co-worker she saw it with loved it.
