Nolan says Ledger is perfect for the approach he´s taking on Joker and that the movie is likely to pick up right from that final rooftop scene in Begins. He also says he´s still putting final touches on The Prestige and hasn´t focused on more casting for the sequel. That seems to contradict all reports about Dent´s casting - but also Goyer´s report that he was done with The Prestige, hmmm...

Awesome find. Things will be really kicking in gear son.

As for the Dent's casting not already done...well, don't believe everything you read. :cwink:

Well he did say awhile ago that the script isn't done. So I think we're going to have to wait a couple of weeks before we hear anything about casting.
Just be patient my kiddies.

"He's just exactly the kind of energy I needed for the character," Nolan (The Prestige) said in an interview about the Australian Brokeback Mountain star. "Everything about the risks that that performer is willing to take are the things I need for somebody to take on that iconic figure. It's going to be a huge challenge for us to create it, and he's exactly the guy you want to be in the trenches with."

This is my favorite quote...

"To be frank, I hadn't really thought about doing the sequel while we were doing the first one, but we wanted to end the first one with a sense of possibility," Nolan said. "And, frankly, the dynamic of that scene and the sense of possibility that we tried to leave the audience with at the end of Batman Begins just stuck with me. And I felt it as much as I hope the audience did. So we really just want to carry on that story and see where it goes."

I don't. That's why I don't necessarily believe that Dent HAS been cast, either.

I have a strange suspicion that the whole "The Dark Knight" production is a farce.

Just watch, after "The Prestige" is released and makes its money, it will be announced that we don't even have a script yet nor is Nolan official signed to come back. Could you imagine the backlash if this news came out before, The Pretige is released.

Stay tuned.

Actually, even Batman Begins doesn´t exist, it was dreamed up by some fanboys who took too much acid...:wow: :woot:

If it takes place right after the 1st one where Bruce Wayne going to sleep???

I agree with Nolan here Ledger wasn't even a fan choice so he choose someone with a great talent that you won't think he will be The Joker.

No, it takes place when he jumps from the roof after talking to Gordon. The cape malfunctions and Batman crashes to the street below. Gordon watching above says, "Oh S***! HE JUST CRASHED!! Gordon rushes down to the street but Batman isn't there.

Meanwhile, Batman is shown in a cruddy clinic close to Crime Alley where he is lying unconscious in a bed and being treated by an older grey haired, but attractive woman. She removes his mask, and Bruce drifting in and out of consciousness, weakly says,"Lesile?

Contrived :down

Honestly, if Nolan said he hadn't thought about additional casting since he's been busy finishing The Prestige, then Dent isn't cast yet. End of story.

Nolan seems very enthusiastic about Ledger. I can't wait until The Prestige releases, so then Nolan will be fully focused on TDK. Then we won't have to put up with anymore of this, "I haven't really thought about the movie since I've been so busy with The Prestige."

Good read

Nolan talking about Ledger as Joker and beginning TDK with the end scene of BB :batty:

Here's a question. How much time passed from when Bruce, Rachel, and Alfred was at the ruins of Wayne Manor to the scene of Batman and Gordon?

My concern? Whether a rebuilt Wayne Manor and refurbished batcave will appear if the sequel does pick up from the end of BB. That would also suggest that the Batsuit and the tumbler will be virtually the same, which isn't necessarily bad.

I hope you're completely and utterly wrong!

I'd gather that the scene took place very soon after the events at the narrows, since the arkham inmates were all still running around the city and Gordon and Batman hadn't seen each other since.

But remember, TDK could take place over a much longer time than BB did.

I don't think it was that much time in between th escene, maybe a few weeks. I'm not sure a fully refurbished Wayne Manor and Batcave will be in the beginning, but throughout the movie (which could span months) they might rebuild them.

edit: maybe next time I can say something that isn't the exact same as Ronny only a minute later
