I saw this thread on another forum, I was wondering where the right place would be to make this thread. Anyways, both of these Batman series are great in their own rights - no debating there, question is, which series did you enjoy more? I feel like perhaps more people saw the batman trilogy than played the arkham series, but still. I think this'll be interesting.

For me there is no question. They were very entertaining games, but they are not at the same level as Nolan's trilogy.

If it where Arkham Asylum and Arkham City it would be close to the Nolan trilogy. But the for me the story for Origins and Knight, Knight especially where not that good.

Yes the Arkham series had stuff like detective moments, magic, super science, cool fighting, etc. but the last two installments dropped the ball in storytelling.

In comparison TDKT was missing some of the stuff I listed above, but I enjoyed all three movies direction. The third being not great but still good.

In terms of storytelling it's a blatant favor for Nolan. However if we're solely judging our enjoyment and fulfilment as a batfan, it's the games all the way. Nothing has yet to come close in immersing you within Batman's vast world.

Totally agree. TDK alone is recognized as an achievement in film. The games are fun, but still just games - and the game Joker doesn't even come remotely close.

Honestly, I'm not sure we can really compare the two as they are very different entertainment mediums - but that's just me.

Tdkt has the better story but the Arkham games have the better universe as a whole

The Arkham games have a distinct advantage in terms of pure time dedicated to their worlds and characters, but the stories are really lacking outside of Arkham City and Arkham Origins, and those two really only get pushed beyond decent into really good because of how engrossing their side missions are in conjunction with their main story. The Nolan Trilogy really has a laser focus on both Batman's protagonist journey and the main conflict for each film.

Arkham batman is a waaaay better interpretation of Batman than Nolan's.

Probably the GOAT non comic interpretation. Only one close is DCAU

Good point. The films tell a complete story, beginning, middle and end - the complete evolution of the character over a decade - his rise, fall and rise again.

I honestly can't gloss over the fact Bale's Batman was only Batman for less than a third of that decade. :o

I'm going with the Arkham game series.
As a massive fan of Batman, the games brought more fulfillment.
That's not to take anything from the Nolan series; I wouldn't
want to be without either one.

I just can't choose.
I finally got my Batman Trilogy with the same Batman actor and director after having 3 previous Batmen in 4 movies within the same series.
Nolans films were critical and box office hits after the box office and critical failure of Batman and Robin which made my favorite character a world wide laughing stock.
Batman Forever was a big hit. I liked it after the two Burton films and it was entertaining and a box office hit. Kilmer was a good Batman and Bruce.
Nolan knocked all 3 films out of the atmosphere in my book.
Bruce Wayne finally got his due. (I love keatons bruce) but seeing bruce wayne train and fight was too good especially with Bale. The action and characters were spot on and it told a complete story in a trilogy. Joker. Two face. Bane (the back break). Catwoman. (My fiance looks exactly like Anne Hathaway.....lucky me). Ra'sal ghul.
Plus Michael Caine as the quintessential Alfred...........Loved Gough and Irons too.

The Rocksteady Arkham Trilogy was another knock out for me. Highly recommended with great critical reception and great story mixed with a game play that finally showed people what its like to play as the Batman. They touched upon most of Batmans crime fighting talents and villians. The Batmobile was the icing on the cape for me. I always wanted an open world "grand theft auto type" Batman game and I got it.
The Arkham games have their spin offs, two prequel games and a few mobile games, a direct to video animated movie and comics but the Arkham Trilogy is the main story. (I have all those too)
Annnnd I got the first two remastered for ps4 aswell. ( I will get criticised for that last comment...but its all good).

Both good for different reasons.
