I thought I would post this...

What do I think, TRYING to not include politics in it....
which of course we know is hard....What is politics and what is not...I will let you decide.

Obama
I think Obama seems a likable guy. He is fairly well spoken and really does well speaking on his feet it seems (by most of the TV spots I have seen that don't seem to be "scripted"). I honestly have some issues with some of his past acquaintences. He has had so many of them, that these past associations constantly nag and really bother me of his judgement and beliefs.

Biden
Honestly, I don't know much about him. He really does seem to be a really likable guy. He is not my Senator, so I don't know enough about him other than TV spots. I can admire the guy for what he went thru with his wife and children dieing years ago, having to raise the rest of his family by himself.

McCain
He seems to me, the grandpa that fought in the war, that tries to have a sense of humor, but sometimes just does not get it right. An extremely honorable person, someone you can trust. May not get things right all the time, but is a person you can lean on. People hate the discussion of it, but I think the years in captivity really give him an "air" of honor, dedication and love of country that I cannot seem to get around.

Palin
I was really excited to see her in the race. She seems to me a real down to earth individual. She has her faults as we all do, and def has her beliefs, which I cannot argue with, I generally don't fault anyone for their beliefs for the most part...whether I agree with them or not. Nowadays I still like her, I don't think she is a really good candidate YET...

This is about as non-political as I could get...not sure about you guys.
Might be interesting to see everyones opinions..

Barack Obama
He's probably a nice guy,but he doesnt seem very warm to me. He's an intellectual, not a people person. I actually prefer that to a certain degree in a President. He's the kind of person I would like to work with (he'd be focused on the job) but I wouldnt know what we would talk about.

Joe Biden
I like Joe. He seems like the crazy uncle to me. He'd have jokes and stories and would be the life of the party. I definitely respect what he went through regarding his wife and daughter.

John McCain
I think he is someone that I would admire but not get close to. I wouldnt know what to say to him if I met him and I doubt we would have anything to really say to each other. There is just too much of a difference for us to be friends.

Sarah Palin
She seems like the head cheerleader to me. She's very pretty and out going, but we have nothing to say to each other. She's the new girl that makes your jaw hit the floor until you get to know her. Then its like, "Ok, never mind."

The only person I can legitimately give a non-political opinion about on that list is Sarah Palin. She strikes me as an unintelligent person who knows very little about how the world works. She is the type of person I cannot stand: an attractive airhead who seems to be popular because she has good looks, and not because she contributes anything of merit to discussions or the debate. All she has to do is wink and smile to get further ahead and melt others' hearts, and to me that seems like she is cheating at life. Regardless of her ambitions in life, Palin's lack of intellect and BASIC knowledge of contemporary society, science, and politics makes her someone I would never want to know, and would go out of my way to avoid at all costs.

Additionally, I am not someone who approves of people having a multitude of children, especially when those children are hell raisers or have special needs while both parents are off bolstering their careers. She doesn't strike me as a good parent who has instilled in her children good values, or has given them enough attention to ensure that they approach life with sound, stable judgment.

Obama - Seems nice... a little 'holier than thou'... comes off a little fake sometimes. Also... that smile is such a horrible smug look...

Biden - Love him. He seems like the guy that got into politics to change things and not bulls**t people... and he still tries to change things and clearly doesn't bulls**t... but he's got a pretty harsh case of foot-in-mouth disease.

McCain - (2000) A lot like what I said for Biden... a good guy that wants to make things better and sometimes just shoves his foot in his mouth. (2003-Now) Jackass prick that will do anything to get elected and has a little spoiled brat attitude when things don't go his way.

Palin - (National) She's f**king ******ed. (Alaska) She's pretty good and should just stay there because she does that job well.

Obama - He seems like a very intelligent man who has had a tough upbringing due to his background and multi-enthnicity. He may seemed aloof at times, but he's rather cool under pressure and doesn't get fazed often.

Biden - Gaffe aside, Biden is a very seasoned politician who is very pleasant and smart. But he lacked the charisma and sometimes appeared like he could've considered his words carefully before he made a blunder.

McCain - He was a former POW and had gained respect for his willingness to work with opposing party. He seemed like a honorable man, but has fiery temper and impatience, and rather stubborn. I also like to say that McCain used to have my respect, but in this election he has diminished his respectibility with his mud-slinging and consent of all those people shouting terrorist in reference to Obama in his rallies.

Palin - As a former beauty pageant contestant, she is seasoned in front of the camera, but her interviews and debate has revealed her to be lacking in the intellectual department. Can be well-spoken with a speech in front of her, but not so much when caught by "gotcha" journalism.

I'll play:

Obama - Intelligent. Cool under pressure. Seems to want to do the right things for America and has an eye on the longer-term big picture, not just the short-term problems we have in front of us. Strikes me as dependable and willing to take in all arguments in formulating his perspectives.

Biden - He's a badass. Uncle Badass. That is Joe Biden.

McCain - I used to respect him back in 2000. He had integrity, honor and dignity. He would stand against his own party and fought for what he thought was right. Today, I hardly recognize the guy. He's sour, angry, bitter, and content to wallow in sh1t; anything to win the Presidency, no matter how demeaning, deceitful or unethical it might be. He has surrounded himself with jackals to run his campaign, and many of his other associations like Graham, Reed, Black, Liddy, Timmons, Abramoff and Keating make me leary as hell of the guy.

Palin: Powerhungry twit.

jag

Obama-just incredibly inspiring, but down to earth at the same time; first candidate since Clinton that I have actually voted FOR and not against the other guy. I believe he has a real shot at greatness.

Biden-he reminds me of the John McCain that I used to admire, a straightforward guy with real passion.

McCain-my feelings towards McCain bounce back and forth between disgust and pity. I had a lot of respect for the guy until the lynch mob crap started and he didn't do anything to stop it. He's sold out a lot of what he once stood for. I think once this is over and if Obama wins, McCain will redeem himself, however.

Palin-completely useless and very scary. She's worse than Bush and represents the very worst of America, just like Obama represents America at it's best.

McCain - he strikes me as the type that was destined to be perceived as a great man because of his blood line. however, i don't think he is a great man at all. graduated 5th from the bottom of his class in the Naval Academy, married the ex-wife (who happened to be a former model) of a former Naval classmate, downed a few planes (wrecklessness) and almost caused an international incident, came back to his wife only to cheat on and divorce her, lied about his age in order to hook up with a woman 15 years younger (Cindy) who happened to be attractive and readily rich, was involved with a scandal that deemed his actions unethical, used racial slurs in the past, and seems to have contempt for anyone and everyone who disagrees with him. he doesn't strike me as an honorable man at all, despite everyone throwing around his P.O.W. experiences like they were there and knew exactly what happened. on top of that, he just comes off as an old @$$hole....and a dumb one at that.

Obama - seems like a person i could really get behind. his life and views have been molded by a plethora of cultures, including foreign. he strikes me as a person who learns from his mistakes and wants to share his learnings with the rest of the world. Obama's very educated and collected. he might not be the most honest politician and he often gets big headed, but he tries to appeal to the best in all of us instead of appealing to our primitive thoughts.

Biden - i haven't really done much research on Biden, but he seems very likable. the way he talks is the way many people i know talk. out of the 4 candidates on the ticket, he seems the most 'REAL' to me. someone who really can walk what he talks. he's like a friend's cool uncle that i never had but always wanted.

Palin - evangelical pigbull in lipstick that likes to shoot helpless animals from a helicopter and pops out babies like it's going out of fashion sooner than her glasses are.

:hehe::hehe::hehe:
Can I steal these for my siggy, pleeeeeeeeeease?

That One/Uncle Badass 08'!!!!

Okay, now tell us how you really feel. :yay:

I'm just an outside observer and ive never seen Biden interviewed, so I'll just stick to the other 3.

OBama
Very charismatic, the type of person that draws ppl to him, clearly an intellectual and articulate, but i feel a hollowness from him when he speaks.

McCain
Desperate is the word that comes to mind, he seems a nice enough guy but misjudges "humour" so often that he comes off badly.

Palin
Very self confident and opinionated, but it feels like she is way out of depth in the position she is in, i saw an interview with her the other day and if i hadn't known it was legit I'd have thought it was an SNL skit.

DANG IT DORKY!!! You got to it before I could! *sniff* I wanted to be the first one with That One / Uncle Badass....meanie.

Obama is the kind of person I'd love to just converse with. He seems VERY intelligent, kind and down-to-Earth. He seems very open-minded.

Biden seems like a good guy too, but I'd want to talk politics with him. I think Jag hit the nail on the head...badass. If this was 1850 he'd probably be like Wyatt Earp, laying down the mother flippin law with a rifle in one hand and a smokin' peacemaker in the other.

McCain. Y'know those kids at the mall that collapse on the floor and totally spazz out at the slightest indication their mom is about to say 'no'? Yeah that's what he is. Now he's the old, weird ass uncle you'd NEVER EVER...EVER...trust your kids around alone or let them sit on his lap. Honestly he looks like a stuck up prick who *****es, moans and throws wild, red-faced tantrums when he doesn't get his way.

Palin: I want to bone her. Pure and simple. At 44 she's hot; her pageant days, even hotter. She could stick her fingers in her armpit and sniff them right in front of me and claim that it "keeps the witches away", and I'd still think, yes, please!

Obama...I think he's a very intelligent person, obviously a "faster leaner" and 'talented' than McCain. Obama has a cool exterior personality, someone you may have a enjoyable discussion on large issues and does a good job not making the issue personal. However, I do get the vibe from Obama he's a bit smug and pretentious...he reminds me of a lot of people I met in college, those who think that because they're intelligent, he should be allowed to micromanage everyone's else job. He obviously doesn't like attacking people directly, but he knows how to through those subliminal punches, and those people are the ones to watch out for.

Joe Biden....he's a cool guy...obviously hotheaded, but he wears his emotions on his sleeve. Seems entertaining guy to watch, listen to...not someone I'd hang out with though...he's too boisterous and a bit pretentious in a more direct, less elegant way than Obama, someone who acts like he needs to be the center of attention at all times.

McCain..I think he has a likeable, get-it-done personality. He has a set of simple core values that he holds to, but outside of that, he has a fighter personality, stand up for what's right to get it done.....even if it involves rolling down in the mud sometimes. He's a ends justifies the means person. The fact that he stayed a POW for 5 years when he didn't have to is a testimony of his character and courage. I genuinely believe McCain will do whatever it takes to get legislation, rush in and get the job done...although he seems prone and willing to make gaffes on the way. He has a weird Napoleon Dynamite sense of humor. You can genuinely get a feel for who this guy is, he doesn't hide his emotion, although he can get erratic quickly.

Palin...I have no strong opinion of her. She's a fighter like McCain..knows how to push buttons, knows how to pick herself off the floor. She probably has the least innate intelligence out of the the four, but she is a very tenacious person, not someone you should underestimate...you put her in the company or organization, she'll know how to rise to the top. she obviously uses her looks, charm to her advantage, but she knows how to be witty and take on challengers. She seems like someone who has experience getting by on less than desirable conditions and doesn't take an opportunity for granted, which I respect. Not someone I'd hang out with, but someone you should watch out for.

Obama - I'd love to have him for a professor. He's the first politician that I've been able to get behind in my lifetime. He's clearly an intellectual, and an orator, something that will be a welcome change.

Biden - He has a great story and is obviously strong to endure his wife and daughter's deaths. I respect the man, yet question some of his gaffes. The uncle I really never had.

McCain - Looking back at 2000, I had a lot of respect for the man. Now, it just seems like he's doing whatever he can. He was obviously robbed by Bush in 2000 and is now out for vengeance. It's just sad.

Palin - I could see her as the empty headed PTA head. But that's it. She just doesn't know the facts, just that she can get by with a smile. I do respect her keeping her kid though.

Obama-Seems incredibally smart and cool. I'm sure he'd tell a few jokes that would go right over my head lol. I think I could relate to him somewhat. He just seems very chill.

Biden-I would love to hang out with this guy since he seems like a riot. Complete character.

Palin- MILF. The hot mom who tries too hard at acting smart and important. Probally a little snobby also.

McCain- Malice said it well. I think he'd have some good stories to tell and would probablly be down to earth. I heard he's an ecyclopedia when it comes to sports.

Obama - He seems very friendly and smart. He has a great way of connecting with people.

Biden - Seems down to earth and nice. Knows what he wants and sticks to his guns, I'm a Biden fan.

McCain - A good man who lost his way. I think he wants to win and is losing sight of the person he used to be, that people liked. I liked his Roast speech and I think somewhere in there he is a good guy. It's sad to see him kind of selling his integrity. I don't agree with a lot of his stances, and he says some dumb things (women's "health") and he has been really childish lately.

Palin - Out of her league, unprepared and I honestly don't like her at all.

Obama
A very intellectual and a very smooth talker. But too me he acts too cool and seems like a sneaky person. I don't think he is apt to be president right now. Maybe in a few years with some more time under his belt. He just looks so rigid around his family and I have yet to see true emotion from this man. He also seems to sneak his way around with even sketchy people to get a leg up in his career. I am sure he would buy me a beer but not really listen to me.

BidenThe true family man that has been through a lot, has seen a lot, and knows a lot. This is a man you can trust. This is a man that will get the job done and get it done right. I would have a beer with this man.

McCainA great grandfather but too me looks too stern and too strict and lacks a lot of emotions. I think he tried to be different and a "Maverick" but he didn't want to loose his political office so he compromised on some issues and his morals to keep on a forward track to success with the current people in power. A true hero that has passed his prime. McCain seems like a whiskey shooter.

Palin
A hypocrite who thinks she can mosey around things with her one liners, her winks, and her little accent. She has an alright family but you know her kids back talk her and you know she hates it that her husband doesn't do ****. She is unprepared and was only brought into this thing to sway disenfranchised old women that were gun-ho for Hillary. This woman truly shouldn't be in politics with her biggot religious views. I would drink foofoo drinks with Palin and then try to get laid:o

Chaseter,

Your comments about Obama and his family couldn't be further from the truth. What pictures have you been looking at?

I'd say if he's a little rigid around his family, it's because there are cameras and people around. They both seem pretty protective of their kids and I like that. As for the thread's question:

Obama: He seems like the guy you work with that goes above and beyond because he's trying to climb the ladder. Not too personable, but ready to crack a work-appropriate joke and everyone likes/respects him at the office.

Biden: Joe Biden is a more urban version of the man I want to become. Smart, on the right side of most issues, and his mouth runs a little too fast for his own good.

McCain: As with most on this thread, the difference between 2000 McCain (whom I voted for) and the 2004+ McCain is so stark that they must be separated. Most of the comments above sum up my feelings for McCain, though this country could do worse for a President. The Palin pick was when I knew we couldn't take him as President. He's just not ready. (Yes, I said he's not ready)

Palin: The "worse" that our country could do I mentioned above. Vacuous, good looking, and ambitious. She reminds me of a couple of women I know, having graduated with a class of 50 students from a rural high school. Women, including my mother, that I wouldn't want anywhere near The Button. I'd also like to add that jman's comments about her above were pretty much correct.
