If Van Sciver needs to create a potion to kill purebloods, why did Blade only need his boomerang to kill Charlotte?

I guess I'm very confused about purebloods vs turnbloods. Can they die the same way? They keep talking about how purebloods are immortal, yet they still have the same problems with garlic, silver, daylight etc...

Garlic, silver, sunlight(UV rays) and Blade are the only thing that are detrimental to a vampire, rather it be pure blood or turned blood. Blade used a UV glaive on Charlotte witch killed the little ***** being that it emitted a high burst of UV light.
As for Van Scivers poison, i think it was made to ONLY attack the genetic make-up of a pure blood. I dont think any type of vampre is immortal but they age MUCH slower than normal humans. That was one of Blades weaknesses, he age the same as a human.
So in conlusion, both vampires are weakend by the same things, at least im pretty sure. I think pure bloods may be a little stronger but im not sure.

The poison WAS engineered to only kill the PB's, or it would've killed Marcus too. That was the whole point of making it; so the PB's would be taken out & the "turnbloods" could take over.

Makes sense, thanks for clearing up my confusion.

They are slightly stronger and all vamps get stronger as they age until they get elderly like Damaskinos.

I got something to add to this Pureblood thread:

In Blade 1, Blade and Karen kill Pearl the record keeper, and enter the hall of mirrors. Blade refers to the 'Vampire bible' as 'The Book of Eurabus'. Eurabus was a vampire house like Armaya or Chthon. Does this mean that each house has it's own bible version kinda like Christians and Jews have different versions? I don't understand why Blade would call it 'The vampire Bible' then...it should be good for all vampires..........

He also said "It contains EVERYTHING; their ENTIRE history." So it did apply to all of them.

To me this is easy to retcon. After blade 1 the house of erebus is pretty much screwed due to the whole Frost Blood God stuff. So maybe cthon just took over. with Van Sciver working for them and from what we have seen of him in the series it is not hard to imagine him taking the opportunity to elevate Cthon

So I think during blade one Erebus was the seat of the nation in North America anyway as what we saw in Blade two is that Damaskinos really had the power and the heirarchy was never established in trinity.
