You've served me well

goodnight sweet prince

He's been my only one since 2005, so I have no idea what the market for mp3 players is right now.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

I use the cellphone I no longer use for calls as my MP3 player just so I don't lose the battery like I lost my camera batteries

Every day, more proof the world is ending in 2012.
Not ending, maybe technology dying then, but not world ending, I think

Man I had a Samsung a few years ago, about the size of my thumb and it was the best, and then I dropped it in water :( Haven't gotten a new one since.

I'm still burning mp3s to cd to play in my car. :funny: Damn I need an upgrade.

I've had an Itouch 60gig that's served me well & also a Iphone 4 as a backup just in case. :word:

I'm still rockin a discman lol noobs.

anyways get an iTouch 4th gen I guess. They're pretty rad.

Wow, that's a long time to have one. I tend to be hell on technology for some reason. I think I generate an inordinate amount of static electricity sometimes. It'd explain why digital watches and mp3 players always seem to die quickly for me.

People use their phones for music nowadays, bro. Step out of the stone age and get with it! :cmad:

I don't. But my phone is just a phone, and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

my refurbished 120 gig Zune died last month, it was starting to act up like when one song ended the display showed the one that was last played, the counter was not counting and when I unplugged headphones it would not pause. I smacked the screen with the palm of my hand a little and the display went black and I got no sound. I plugged it in my car charger and it showed the battery was charging and when it turned back on all I got was a 'contact support' screen and could not turn it off. MS wanted 120 bucks to fix it I have not done that as I am trying to find a 3rd party place that could fix it cheaper, any ideas?

I think it's a lost cause because a 3rd party repairman might end up charging you what it would cost for a new one or close to it. That's one reason I always say no to refurbished products. :down

I've had mine for 3+ years now.

Sorry for your loss.

It seems like whenever you decided to buy and ipod, a few months later there goes Steve Jobs talking about a new one that's coming out.

I second this...I've got a HUUUGE amount of blank cd's so I might as well use 'em. I've tried the mp3/phone deal, but I hate wearing headphones while I'm out and about...

For the iPod touch owners what are the pros and cons of having one? Is the 8 GB worth paying $200?

I'm not a iPod owner but it's not worth that much. There's so many good alternatives that the exactly the same but cheaper. Sony's Sansa is a good one to look at.

I bought an ipod nano last year and it recently stopped working on me. I think the battery might've overheated while I was charging it because now it just heats up when i plug it in. I don't have any money to avoid even a regular mp3 player, so I'm using the Blackberry I got a few months ago. I could've afford all the extra features so I switched my line to an older phone, so now my BB acts as my mp3 player.

My first ever iPod I got back in 2004 still works.:) I'm actually really surprised it does though.

I haven't had any sort of mp3 player for almost three years now.
