Well, I posted in the New Inklings thread and the Last Book Read thread and only THEN did I think to actually start my own thread. Not spamming... I promise. Just not thinking.

Anyhow, so I've been writing since I was a kid, mostly for fun, but never took it serously until after high school. I didn't really know how to do it so I just started writing and I apparently sucked pretty bad. Since that time I've taught myself, with help from friends, family, and internet, to properly write a novel. My ideas range in nearly all genres and I've so far finished 3 books.

I apparently suck at writing pitches because I couldn't even get my stuff looked at by an agent, let alone a publishing company. Having gotten tired of the agent searches I decided to look into ebooking. With the encouragment of a fellow author I prepared two of my three books and as of yesterday, published them on smashwords.com.

I'm working on preparing the third book, though it'll take a while before it's read as it was my first completed novel and I've grown a lot since then. I'm super stoked and want as many people to read my stuff as possible. I've sat on them for so long that the chance of getting people to try them has me giddy.

You can find my books at my smashwords page HERE.

If you like what you read please rate the book and leave a nice comment. I'd also love it if you could tell your friends, facebook, twitter, etc. I need all the promotion I can get. I'm self-taught so I learn through trial and error, so if you have criticisms I'd love to hear those as well. That's how I grow as a writer. Though, I prefer that you leave those here or in a PM so that it doesn't have a negative influence on my sales.

Thanks guys... here's hoping I can entertain you.

Awesome work dude!! It's good to know there are so many authors on the Hype!

Thanks. I've also had a short comicbook story published in an indy GN called Iconic II. That was my first and only real publication so far. I'm submitting more stories for the third volume this weekend so hopefully I'll add to that number.

Well, thanks :) Link in my first post and in my sig will take you to them.

And while I'm on this thread I should probably give an update :)

The books are now available in the Kindle Store as well for $2.99 each.

Sales weren't much due to a lack of promotion, which I honestly have no idea how to do. Then last week I cut the price down to FREE for each download on smashwords and my sales (well, units sold) skyrocketed. I'm mostly just interested in getting it out there right now so I'm very excited about this. I've sold around 90 copies of Cicada Song and around 50 for Flitter & Plank.

I'm actually waiting right now for a friend to show up and we're going to design the book covers for the paper backs of each novel and then I'm going to work through createspace (I think it's called) to get paper back editions created. VERY excited for that.

And lastly, thanks to hype's own Spider-Fan, I have a potential of getting a trailer made for each of my books. I have the ideas in my head but it all just depends on if it can be made and how much it will cost. More on that later.

UPDATE

My Romantic Suspense novel, Cicada Song, is now available in paperback through Createspace found HERE and will be sold on Amazon.com in a week or so.

My children's fantasy novel staring my daughters, the Adventures of Flitter & Plank, will be available in paperback in a week or two.

Besides those I have another short comicbook story coming out in the anthology ICONIC III through the Comicbook Artists Guilde at this year's NYCC. It's about the screw up son of Zeus.

I'm also working on an Epic Fantasy that I'm tentatively calling Refuge. It was actually the first book I attempted to write but I was learning how to write as I wrote it and decided to stop and eventually redo it. Well, now I'm redoing it. I'll be releasing it as eBooks in parts, between 3 and 5 depending on how I do the later aspects of the story, and then all of it collected in one paperback omnibus when it's finished. I am currently half way through part 1.

And I'm also slowly converting my first finished novel, the Quest for Light (young adult fantasy), into past tense and will eventually be doing massive edits on it. I'm not expecting this one to be ready for quite some time though.

So an update:

Quest for Light is on perminant hiatus. I've decided that it's just too far gone to convert and try to publish. I'll likely rewrite it at some point down the road.

Sales for Cicada Song is slow coming but coming. I'm not making any profit on it though as every dime I make goes in to buying more copies to sell. It's pretty much evening out.

Cicada Song is now available on Amazon.

I'm about halfway through Refuge Book 1
