Unlikely as it seemed only years ago, the almost mythical Richard Donner version of Superman II now sits on the shelves of fans everywhere. So what is the next 'Holy Grail' of the genre?

- The original cut of Batman Forever, screened at previews and rumoured to exist on e-bay?

- Pictures and test footage of Nicolas Cage in his Superman costumes?

- Forty minutes of missing footage from Superman IV, until recently believed destroyed?

- A director's cut of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which director Steve Baron has said there is plenty of unused footage for?

- Pictures of the Wolverine mask prototypes built for X-Men?

The TMNT dc. I know the guys at mirage are trying to get it worked out with New line. But everyone at new line seems to be an ass and won't let it happen.:cmad:

Nick Cage and Batman Forever.. Forever could have been a good movie and from what I read about was that it was alot darker.

I really would love to see anything available on Superman Lives. It's the one project (despite my love for Superman Returns and my disagreement with where Burton seemed to be going with it) that I wish existed. Not as the primary Superman franchise, but as a sort of side-project, an Elseworlds. Too bad two Superman franchises could never co-exist at the same time.

I would really love to see "Stage 2" Scarecrow from Batman Begins. We've seen artwork and drawings based on it; it exists somewhere. The BB dvd was lacking, so I'm not surprised it didn't appear on it (as a matter of fact, the Scarecrow and Cillian Murphy are barely referenced at all). Maybe when TDK is released, we'll get a better disc..

Roger Corman's Fantastic Four: Director's Cut.

Daredevil - The Director's Cut!

Seriously! They cut out all the court scenes, which would have made the film flow better and would have actually shown us the other side of Matt Murdock's life. The movie as shown was so one-sided. i.e. Almost all man-in-costume scenes. The double-identity life is an important staple of most superheroes.

Anyhoo...

I think today is your lucky day.....:)

I don't know if anyone feels the same way, but I think it's interesting to note, as I slowly discovered the history of the Superman films for myself, The Donner Cut took on this mythic, legendary "Arthurian" status. As Kevin put it, "The Holy Grail" so to speak. The lore of the saga and events behind the film surpass the film itself. It's really interesting, because the appeal of those choices rest in the fact that they have never been seen before.

As much as I loved Richard Donner's cut, it's almost ridiculous to say, but a small part of me wanted to always wonder "what if...." And now that I have the Richard Donner cut in front of me, after all these years of coming to understand the saga of the film, it's surreal to say the least.

As for the question, I wouldn't mind seeing the DC of Batman Forever. I don't think it's a horrible film, I rather enjoy it in the same vain as The Shadow and The Phantom, but I would enjoy to see Schumacher's original, darker cut.

Absolutely, man. For me, reading about the whole Donner/Lester saga way back in 1997 at Superman Cinema, the whole thing took on legendary status. Everyone dreamed it would be something really special. Buried treasure. I myself repeatedly stated I thought it would have been the best superhero movie ever (which it isn't). We've spend almost a decade dreaming about this, and now we have it on DVD.

Was Superman Lives the one Kevin Smith wrote?

Yep, complete with ridiculous inclusions by request of Jon Peters.

i would give my first born for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Directors Cut. i atleast want a SE DVD with behind the scenes, concept art, and maybe a documentary.

Kevin Smith dealt with them very well though. Peters didn't want to see Superman flying, so Smith made him a red streak. Peters wanted Supes fighting a giant spider, so Smith made it a Thanagarian Snare Beast from Brainiac's interplanetary zoo.

It's a good script, it's very much a movie version of the 90's comics.

While we're on the subject, I recently aquired a copy of the original cut of the 1989 Punisher movie. It adds about half an hour of footage.

Batman Forever. Being my favorite Batman movie, its my "HG" especially since they annouced it when touting the "new" DVD format years ago.

The missing Superman 4 footage.

Beyond that, some Superhero shows that haven't made the leap to DVD yet. Such as the 1970's Spiderman.

TMNT DC: The people at New Line are idiots not to release it.

And Marvel should do a followup to the 90's Spider-man series{with that sucky ending}

Does it improve the film anymore? I'm sure the added footage covers more on Frank's relationship with Jake before his family is killed and on Berkowitz quitting his drinking.

Captain America (1991) on DVD.

Crappy movie for the most part. But i love when Cap attacks the Nazi compound that sequence was awesome.

Wasn't there a small scene cut from X2 which showed(during the moment when Stryker reset Cerebro) a man playing cards at a table, when one of them bursts into purple flame?

I'ld like to see that, supposedly Hugh Jackman's stunt double played the part of Gambit

There's that, and a long opening stake-out action sequence that plays like a diluted Lethal Weapon.

Its the bust in which they meet Sam correct? I've seen publicity shots of all this footage.

Magnificent Ambersons Director's Cut... I'm sorry kiddies that it's not a super-hero movie, but I'd give my left nut for that. I read the book and absolutely loved it, I haven't watched the film in fear of it suckitude since I'm told they butchered Orson Welles vision, Welles was thrown out of the editing room on this film.
