I only consider the Christopher Nolan trilogy as worthy enough to even consider as Batman Movies due to their quality, i dont take the previous things seriously.

Having said that my favorites are..

    The Dark Knight Rises
    The Dark Knight
    Batman Begins

The Dark Knight Rises gave bruce wayne and batman a fitting end that a fan like me always wanted to see, instead of seeing bruce waste his life in anger fighting forever like in the comics or DC Animated Universe.

Im glad that there were exceptional themes that tied all the movies together and came together to produce a perfect ending in my opinion.

    Epic. :batman::up:

Enjoy it sir, I got that a couple years ago and I love it. The transfers on all of them are pretty much amazing and fills up the entire screen.

I bought them on DVD in 2005 (same day BB dvd came out). I had to buy them all separately because I couldn't see any box sets. They each came in very nice slipcases, though... But, including BB, that was an expensive day to be a Batman fan. :p

I did too. Ah, what a glorious (and expensive) day that was.

Enjoy Anno! I still have my Anthology DVDs but I'm tempted to get the Blu-ray set myself.

I will never have a favorite, too me it's one big story. If it was just two films I still would'nt have a favorite. Also I count gotham knight, tdk virals as part of the story too.

The Dark Knight. I enjoyed the other two immensely though, and can watch all three repeatedly.

Oh, I will definitely enjoy it.

I'm wondering one day if I should watch the Burton/Schumacher films and then Nolan's trilogy right after...that'll be some huge marathon, haha.

Really hard to choose between all three, but for me the favorite movie is Begins. Really loved seeing the story behind the hero.

I'm still surprised BB is ranked number three here. I thought it was the general audience who viewed TDKR over BB and the hardcore fans like us here on the hype who place BB as the solid number two, if not the best of the trilogy.

With that being said, I have an overwhelming urge to watch TDKR right about now.

You would think hardcore fans would place BB as the best of the trilogy?

And I've said it many times, there are many fans that do indeed love TDKR, lol. Hell, I'm still firm on the idea that there are as many who love TDKR as there are who love TDK.

I said "if not the best of the trilogy" because a lot of hardcore bat-fans do think BB is the best or at the least the second best.

I think BB has a lot of sentimental value because for a good portion of fans it was the first movie to "get Batman right". But I can't in good conscience say it's a movie on the same level as TDK or TDKR. The first hour is damn near perfect, but it does suffer a bit from the typical origin movie syndrome of the movie getting a bit dumbed down once he's in the costume. And Nolan was still finding his footing on the superhero/action side his things.

I adore the movie and think it's pretty underrated overall, but to me it's just not quite on the same level as the other two.

Very true. Although with Begins, I felt everything up until Ra's' reveal was near perfect, not counting "fear, fear, fear". Everything after that kind of felt like a different movie, lol. But seeing Batman fight the ninjas and then his final showdown with Ra's on the train kept it from getting a little too hectic. Indeed it is underrated though.

I will say that Begins is a better Batman movie for fans. It honestly ticks off more boxes than TDK and is the most "faithful" to the Batman comic book formula. Granted, TDKR has a doomsday plot as well, but it is more of a MacGuffin to go beyond the comic book formula for Batman and into something much more French Revolution (I know that it was inspired by No Man's Land, but it goes in a very different direction with it and, again, that is not a typical Batman story).

So, Begins may be the better Batman movie. But I think Rises has more to offer as a film to think about and return to than Begins does.

And of course, The Dark Knight is the best. Without question.

I always find it funny how people say BB is more of a "Batman film" yet there is more of Bruce in the suit in TDK, and he is busting his ass to find the Joker, doing a lot of crafty detective work, lol.

I look at it this way:

BB - The classic creature of the night depiction of Batman.
TDK - The in his prime, detective focus of Batman.
TDKR - The Dark Knight Returns styled aging Batman, who is fighting father time.

I think people call BB more of a "Batman film" because of the trilogy, BB is the only film that feels like it's only a superhero film while TDK plays with the crime thriller genre and TDKR has a very war epic/disaster film feeling.

Yeah, that's all very true. Still, in other ways TDK and TDKR feel more like full fledged Batman movies to me. Things like the color palettes, more and cooler Bat-gadgets and vehicles, more major characters from the comics, Gordon becoming commissioner etc.
