I am EXTREMELY skeptical of the new FF 'toon. Not only b/c of the look, but also because the last truly good Marvel cartoon was before they had movies, & "X-Men: Evolution" has made me wary of any Marvel property airing on a Time-Warner affiliated network.:thing:

Now that it's on the air, any additional thoughts?

At least X-Men Evolution was better than The Batman. ;)

Haven't caught it yet? When's it on?

It's on Cartoon Network at 7 p.m. CT Saturday nights. Reruns from the previous week run at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Actually, you're just in time. The first two weeks of the show were kind of jarring because they've been airing them out of order, and it REALLY shows. They're supposed to finally air the episode that was intended to be the pilot THIS coming Saturday, though...

chris i agree theres a possible conflict of interest in airing a marvel show on a netwok whose owners ALSO own dc comics i mentioned this during the EVO era but my opinions were dismissed

Well I had those same reservations about EVO & thought the show was terrible.

This weekend I caught the Hulk episode. I thought it was alright. Not great, not terrible. The "Orange rock man made fun of Hulk's momma!" line was funny. I think I'll watch a few more eps.
Oh-I also caught a little bit of "The Batman" & I liked the way they did Robin's origin. From what I saw it was pretty much spot-on.

I liked the Hulk episode... the rest I didn't like much...
Some of the characters feel akward...
Reed doesn't have this "Intellectual aura"
Sue seems like she's a psycho-*****

I hate the fauxnime style and don't get me started on the spray painted 4...

Yeah-the look sucks. And flip-flopping from conventional to CGI doesn't help.

I actually like the use of CGI. But I'm not sure how I feel about the anime thing - I really wish they'd just create their own style instead, like the DCAU shows or X-Men Evolution did! Too often I cringe at the anime crap they pull, like the classic anime trick of "angry crowd shot with sound effects and zero movement."

I've just come to accept the spray-paint. It's stupid, but what the hell you gonna do? At least I like the new costume designs.

LOL. Very true. Or the classic "frightened people running from alien bugs with sound effects, slideshow effect, and zero movement".

Easy "animation". Heck, I could do that myself.

What I hate of the style is that they're trying to be anime but doing a half-assed job about it... I think it's cause it's a French studio that makes the cartoon (And the French have being fauxnime-ing for a while) If they wanna make an anime verision of the F4 they should go anime ALL the way, not this east meets west crap... I love BOTH anime and western cartoons, but I hate the results of the east/west fusion...

I've enjoyed the it. I haven't watched a cartoon in about 25 years, so I have nothing to compare it to. What I've seen I've thought kids would like this, and the kids I know do. Its getting good ratings, so I guess they are doing what they need to do.

Agreed.

You missed out on Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: TAS and Justice League.

For shame.

See, I'm on the fence about the costumes. The spray-painted logo is moronic.

totally spies plus marvel superheros=new fantastic four show

Well the only good thing about the show is that one character is voiced by Jennifer Hale... (Voiced Black Cat on Spider-man:TAS, Mary Jane on Spider-man Unlimited, and she's done voices on countless videogames...) and she happens to be one of my favorite female voice actors... (Cam Clarke would be my fave Male VA...)
About Totally spies... Umm... it's about some spy teenage girls from Beverly Hills... Like Get Smart meets James Bond, Charlie's Angels and 90210, but kidified...
I'll let Wikipedia explain it better...

Same here. It looks pretty good on Reed, Sue, and Johnny. But they really should have reconsidered doing the same design for Thing's pants - and that spraypainted logo is, like you said, moronic. Whatever gave them the idea to do that?

since the other threads about ff tas'06 are in the misc tv forum why didn't you place it there?

The main discussion I've seen for the series is in the "rise of the silver surfer" spoiler forum.

They really need to condense the multitude of topics to one, and find one location for them.
