They should have had him silently nod and mutter "Go get em" then walk off, with Peter simply overhearing him. Anything but look at him and say it. I mean it felt so forced.

Thats just my opinion.

I think Stan should have appeared when Peter was in dark Peter mode and peter should say something like "Get away from me you old fart".

He should have said "I guess the fantastic four were on vacation. Thanks for picking up the slack spidey."

Or Stan should have said "Your not spiderman, I am" and you see Stan pull out his spiderman costume and try to climb up on the side of a wall and falls off.
