Obama or Hillary?

Hillary with Obama as VP.

A woman/minority ticket or vice versa isn't going to happen any time soon because it is too risky. We don't even know electable a woman or black candidate for President is. Going with woman or minority in the VP slot wouldn't be a good idea in that scenario. If Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or Bill Richardson end up being the Democratic nominee next year, they will try to balance the ticket with the conventional white man as VP. I could see Evan Bayh being a strong running mate for either one of those three.

I'm going to call it, Obama has won the Hype election.

Too bad that doesn't mean anything. :(

I'm not reading this thread but the Democrats can easily have next year's election if they went with a moderate instead of the whole "novelty" candidate angle. They are just asking for another 4 years of Republican.

Who cares, 24 Hype people would vote for Obama, and some of which do not vote.

Best thing you've ever said.

Well, the best thing you've ever said since that time you said Wal-Mart was for queers.

Amen to that. "Novelty candidate" is exactly right. Neither are qualified to be president. They are getting attention because of their skin color and sexual organs.

Clinton is getting extra attention to the last name she is using.

You misunderstand.

If it's either Hillary or Obama for President, the Democrats will (probably) lose. America's still pretty damn racist and sexist. Unfortunately.

hold the phone;p republicans couldnt have worse buzz heading into an election. obama all the way; hilarys a *****.

it CANT be worse than 04's candates though. i think obama and clinton have some potential and there are plenty of good republicans. democrats strategy is ******ed; t heir trying to force their party to rally behind obama or clinton ALREADY and by the time 2008 comes around their sides will be so rooted for them/against the other, when they can only have 1 itll split the party in two.

I say screw it to hell, we need a Libertarian party in power!

You're absolutely right that running someone like Obama or Clinton is way too risky. But they also can't run a robot like John Kerry either.

Obama is my pick.

If it came down too it I'd go for McCain, that with no other choice.

Guy you act like Bush is qualified.

It's like we got a watered down John Wayne hand puppet as a Commander-in-chief.

Actually Dubya was a very successful governor in one of the countries largest states. He WAS qualified.

Yeah I can, plus his current scorecard says he's not so hot at his job.

If the tables were turned, not a one of you wouldn't be nitpicking Obama if he was elected.

Define success.

He was a very popular governor who was able to unite the two parties in Texas to pass legislation.

Now his record in the White House is not nearly as cheery - but that doesn't mean he was not a qualified President.

Now my question is why be so critical of Obama, when the guy shows more promise than guys who have been in the senate for decades?

I personally think any success Bush accrued as governer of Texas is all due to family and handlers.

I wish Obama would raise the minimum wage to $9.50 like in Santa Fe.

I am critical of Obama ONLY because I have not heard a reason why he would make a good President. He seems to be a candidate whose popularity is based not on his record or ideas, but his apparent freshness to the public. While this is a good thing to have, you need substance to back up the style.

You would be wrong, but you are welcomed to think that. Rove didn't have the power on Bush in Texas that he does now. George H.W. does not have the power people want to give him (if he did, he wouldn't of loss in 92). Rummy and Cheney were not in picture. Most of the "handlers" were not in play.

This played a huge factor in Clinton's victory in 1992. In addition to being a solid governor in Arkansas, he was also very personable and charismatic and open with the public. It could easily work with Barrack.
