ROSEVILLE, Calif. (KCRA) -- Jedi-mind tricks apparently weren’t enough to keep Obiwan Kenobi out of the Placer County Jail.
Roseville police said that over the weekend they arrested a 37-year-old with the same name as the Star Wars character on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury. Kenobi was also wanted on an unrelated charge of petty theft, authorities said.
Kenobi was arrested in connection with a five-vehicle crash that took place March 19 at Fairway and Rosehall drives.
Officers said that three vehicles were stopped in the straight-ahead lane of westbound Fairway when another vehicle stopped in the left-turn lane. A fifth vehicle, which was described as a green Toyota, collided with two cars it tried to merge between. The crash set off a chain-reaction, causing two other vehicle to be hit.
Police said the Toyota fled the area after the wreck.
An investigation led officers to Kenobi, who was arrested at his home on Saturday, authorities said.
Kenobi is being held in the Placer County Jail on $17,500 bail.
Roseville police said two people complained of pain after the crash.

I wonder if he tried using a Jedi Mind trick waving his hand/s at the police? "This is not the suspect your looking for".

What he did was legal ... from a certain point of view.

I can just imagine George Lucas epic FACEPALM!!

The traffic in California is more difficult to navigate than an asteroid field.

Way to hide in exile Obi-Wan.

Oh boy LOL. No offense to anyone, but someone who changes their name for one like that is capable of trying a jedi mind trick for sure :oldrazz:

I have been a major Star Wars nut since '82, and this is the first time I have realised that Obi-Wan has 'obi' at the end of his name as well.
there you have it, if the proof where not already insurmountable, I am dumupid and stumb.

The cop must have been a Toydarian. Mind tricks don't work on them. Only money.

The cops arrested him under Ordinance 66.

No, he would just use digital manipulation to make it so the bars in Obi-Wan's cell were actually light-saber beams, and he gets into a fistfight with his cellmate, Greedo. He'd make Greedo swing first, though.

It wasn't his fault! Han crashed first.
