Bandai Namco filed a trademark for “Hacker’s Memory” in Europe on March 20.
“Hacker’s Memory” is the subtitle of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory, the new Digimon title announced for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in the latest issue of V-Jump.
The trademark suggests that Bandai Namco is already planning, or considering, to release Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory in western territories.

First official info on the new Digimon RPG.

Digimon-Story-CSHM_03-20-17.jpg

Bandai Namco has launched the official Japanese website for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory, providing an introduction to the newly announced RPG, as well as the first screenshots and video.

Get the introduction below.
A New Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Title Appears!
For the March 2015-released Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, the basic concept of the Digimon Story series so far—a training RPG where you “adventure,” “train,” and “battle” while collecting Digimon—was kept in tact, and by powering up the setting and game systems with the theme of being a “game directed towards adults,” the title received high praise from many Digimon fans.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory will be a new entry in the Cyber Sleuth series based on the setting and game systems of the previous title, in which a new story will develop.
A Story on the Other Side of “Cyber Sleuth”
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory will tell another story that happened on the other side of the events depicted in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, from the point of view of a new protagonist.
In near future Tokyo, where the boundaries between reality and cyberspace have blurred, players will use AI-based computer viruses known as “Digimon” generated in cyberspace and become a new generation of hacker to solve the case of a rise in hostile hackers and Digimon.
The protagonist is not a hero chosen to save the world.
In the face of a world crisis—while previously established common sense and values significantly change—struggle to desperately protect your friends, family, and the place where you belong. This is a cyberpunk story with even stronger sci-fi elements!

If you played the original Cyber Sleuth, you already know all this.

Digimon-Hackers-Memory_03-28-17.jpg

Bandai Namco has updated the official Japanese website for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory with details on the game’s adventure, training, and battle parts.

If you played the original Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, you’ll find that none of this information is actually new. But we decided to share it for the sake of readers who may not have played the first game.

Get the information below.
Adventure: Become a Hacker and Resolve Troubles in Cyberspace

Become a “Hacker” in near future Tokyo, who undertakes and resolves various troubles happening in cyberspace, and together with your Digimon travel between the “real world” and “digital world” while taking on various cases. Go around fields and dungeons, gather information and items, and resolve cases stirred up by opposing hackers and Digimon.

Training: Evolve into the Strongest Digimon

Digimon are partners on your adventure. By choosing the “Scan” option in battles against the many Digimon lurking in the dungeons, you can acquire their data. By gathering more and more data, you can convert the data into a Digimon at the “Digi-Lab” facility in the digital world. Digimon will become even more powerful through evolution. There are 320 Digimon you can train in this game.

Battle: Change Strategies Based on the Digimon
Battles proceed through the “Active Turn” battle system, where Digimon take turns with attacks that combine speed and skill.

Use commands such as the standard “Attack” command and the SP-consuming “Skill” command to battle.
Digimon also have “types” and “attributes,” and each has advantages and disadvantages against each other. Choose skills and enemies to attack according to compatibility, and by connecting ally attack turns, you can trigger a “Combo” to deal even greater damage and enjoy a truly strategic battle. The new Digimon and support skills added to this game further expand the breadth of battle.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2017 in Japan, and in early 2018 in North America and Europe.

The Zaxon member returns.

The latest issue of V-Jump has new information on Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory.

The game puts players in the role of protagonist Keisuke Amazawa, a young man who is falsely accused of account raiding that he knows nothing about, and who joins the hacker team “Hudíe” in order to find the criminal that tricked him.

As part of the team, you’ll hone your skills as a hacker by taking on the various requests that the team receives.
Hudíe’s base of operations is an Internet cafe.

You’ll receive requests via the PC, and can then either investigate the real world or log into cyberspace depending on the request. In dungeons, you’ll be able to make use of hacking skills, as well.

Two new characters are introduced in the magazine.
Erika Mishima is a member of Hudíe, and an extremely shy shut-in. She lives with her older brother. An incident that happened in the past resulted in her awakening as a genius.

Erika’s partner Digimon Wormmon, who joined her after she saved him from a sticky situation, is the mascot of Hudíe. He’s a cowardly, clumsy, troublemaker full of curiosity. There will be times when Erika and Wormmon battle in the same party as the protagonist.

Fei is a member of Zaxon, and a violent girl who will go through any means necessary to achieve her goal. She uses the protagonist in order to take down opposing organizations. Her partner Digimon is TigerVespamon. Fei also appeared in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, whose story runs parallel to this game’s.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2017 in Japan, and in early 2018 in North America and Europe.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory will launch for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on January 19, 2018 in the Americas and Europe, Bandai Namco announced.

In Japan, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory was previously announced to be launching on December 14.

Users who pre-order Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory will receive four bonus Digimon (Omnimon NX, Sistermon Ciel and Blanc, Leopardmon NX, and Crusadermon NX), and exclusive costumes (V. Uchida Costume, Inoden School Attire, and special T-shirts).

Here are the latest details on the game, via Bandai Namco:
Confusion reigns since the collapse of the wall between the real and the digital dimensions. Digimon are now in the real world and the Hudie hacking group seems to have been informed about this chaos. How did they know? Are they involved?
Yuuko Kamishiro, the daughter of Satoru Kamishiro, the former president of Kamishiro Enterprise of EDEN who apparently killed himself. She has some doubts about her guardian Rie Kishibe as she suspects her to have some links with her father’s death and the strange events happening in the world. She decided to join the Hudie group to investigate the runaway hackers. Kyoko Kuremi, another mysterious character, is a private detective specialized in cyber-related cases, she often arrives on site before the heroes when she investigates. That’s surprising…
To help find the truth about these odd events, “Hacker’s Memory” can be collected in the main scenario and sub-quests. These “Hacker’s Memory” are full of information and data. They will be extremely useful in figuring the real agendas of different characters whilst collecting rewards!
