Yeah so, we hired two new people into the department, and i'm halfway training someone now. I'm not saying I'm doing a halfway job of it, but other people are also training her part of the time.

But, new people means minding the P's & Q's and walking the straight & narrow more rigidly. My Hype time looks to take a gash for a bit. Pretty much hit & miss for the short term.

What adjustments have you guys made when new people move into the office?? :)

It sucks having to train people, I've had to do it a few times, you've gotta dumb down your job so they can understand and can't use the shortcuts you've learned for certain tasks. Gotta break all those bad habits you've been using.

"Ummm, sir, I don't think they're paying us to chat on internet message boards."

I remember I was working at my campus pc lab and we got a new guy in. I was like, yeah, this is where we put these, etc., and if you ever get a break, you can go on here and we play video games sometimes if you want to.

His response, "You know, I don't think they want us really playing games when we're supposed to be working."

.....

Ye-ah.

None, cause I'm the senior analyst of my division. I just give them the, "Do as I say, not as I do" speech. And, then I tell them as long as they get their work/projects done and keep the customers happy, I don't care what they do.

Well, it's not really an "office shake-up," but a workplace one... I ****ed someone who works in my shop last week. That was an awkward morning.

Oh, and she outranks me.

Oh, and she has a boyfriend. Who outranks me.

Oh, fun.

All that **** about discipline they taught you in the military just went in one ear and out the other, didn't it?

Pfft. :whatever: Who cares if you like it. (Why do you like it, anyway?) The real question is, did she like it?

I could care less, haha.

I got what I wanted. But I hold her largely responsible.
