That's a pretty big drop for the PS3 from July, huge increase for the 360 from July and the Wii dropped a little but is still doing amazing.

Here's what I meant about VGChartz not being the best numbers to go by last week, Zenien. They got the #1 and #2 consoles backwards and every console was estimated way too high (50k too high for PS3!!) except for the XBOX 360, which was only 5.9k too low.

But MAN if that darn PS3 has shaken off its sales spike early!

Im not surrpised with the PS3 non-presensce in teh software section bc it hasnt had any games released in a while. Hopefully that will be changing soon now that the fall titles are coming out

As I said when I was arguing economics earlier. The PS3's spike just wasn't sustainable for an extended period of time.

A drop of 29K isn't that huge, and about what I was expecting for the second month (I was thinking anywhere from 120-140). The 360 would drop off to a larger percentage were it not for Bioshock and Halo 3 coming this September. So it's really very much in line with what my assessment was earlier. You also have to consider the fact that there are SOME reports saying that some stores have run out of 60 gigs, but I wouldn't expect that to effect things beyond a k or two.

Well, keep in mind that the release dates of WarHawk and Lair skew their numbers a bit.

Not that Lair will do great numbers, at least imo.

What's more weird is how well Madden sold on the PS3. It stomped the Wii version and sold pretty well versus the PS2 and 360 versions (which also stomped the Wii. Nintendo player confirmed? Then again I don't think taht the Wii userbase is looking for EA sports games when it comes to the types of games that you will see be a hit on the Wii. Apparently the Wii version sold 100k.

PS3 owners... I thought you guys were suppose to be hardcore, and you buy madden? Bleh.

Metroid Prime 3 is the fastest selling Prime game of all time apparently... [blackout]not that it's the best Prime game or anything[/blackout] (released August 27, 2007)

Bioshock WILL be GOTY, will probably hit 2 million (hopefully!).

360 outsold the ps2 this month

it also outsold the psp

it sold twice as many units as the ps3

in terms of software it outsold the wii and the ps3 combined

Only because of Madden, if you took Madden out of each console, Wii would be easily trumping 360 in the top 10.
