I can't find a thread for this so hopefully this is not a duplicate. The details for the upcoming auditions in NY have been posted in the Gen Discussion thread but I suppose a separate thread for the NYC shoot will be helpful.

Grant Wilfley Casting, Inc. is casting extras for the new Warner Bros. film Magnus Rex. Producers state: “Take part in the urban action adventure coming to the streets of New York City.” Shoots Oct. 29-Nov. 11, 2011 in NYC.

Seeking—Extras: male and female, 18+, all ethnicities, no experience necessary, to play law enforcement within a city besieged by crime and corruption, specific roles include Guards, Soldiers, and Police Officers, seeking physically fit athletes, people with military and/or law enforcement training/experience, weapons training, and/or martial arts training.

Open call will be held Oct. 1, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. & 2-4 p.m. at Metropolitan Pavilion, 110 W. 19th St. (btwn. Sixth & Seventh aves.), NYC. Bring photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, state ID, student ID, etc.); talent must be able to provide valid unexpired ID to fill out I-9 at time of hiring. Seeking nonunion talent at this call; SAG members who are not already registered with GWCI should also attend the open call. For more info (including time/location details for SAG registration), visit www.gwcnyc.com or call (212) 685-3168. There are no sign-up fees. Professional pay provided. SAG Background Actors Contract.

That sounds awesome! I drove down with friends to the Pittsburgh Heinz Field shoot. I am completely new to these open casting things, and I was wondering if you could explain to me how they work.. I fit the description above and I wanted to know how complicated or difficult it would be to partake in this film. Thanks!

If Ill know the exact locations Ill go to check it out. Wouldve been surreal to see the characters from the movie if Bale or Catwoman or Banes gonna be there

For anyone who was lucky enough to be in the LA casting call for the movie, how difficult is it and what do they ask you to do? I've never been to a casting call before, and I have no acting experience whatsoever but I would love to have a chance to be in this film, even if I just stand there or do something minor...

Hmmm, there was an official NY thread, guess it got cleaned up. I'm missing this casting since I'll be on a Disney Cruise, shucks.

Working all weekend, can't make it. Sounds cool though, Batman returns to Gotham.

You don't need prior acting experience. You don't have to audition. All you have to do is sign a few papers and get your photos taken.

Don't worry, Polaris.

You still have twenty days left to go in LA.

I'm convinced that NYc will have Batman rooftop scenes and night shots.

Working until 3 pm, but I might try to get there after. Thanks for the info!

"I'll look into it."

Not going to try and be an extra....

I have another mission I'll be doing in NYC for this film

I need advice.

I am 18 and I have college between 9 to 3 Mondays to Thursdays. And I work at a grocery store 4 days a week, 2 being on Fridays and Saturdays.

Might have answered my own question, but it would be difficult to fit the time in if I were to get in huh?

Not necessarily, but you might have to drop school or work for a day to work on TDKR if they call you. More then likely, they would use you for one day only if you did get the call. and they would give you at least a weeks notice, maybe two. ( I work background in TV for a living out here in a LA and I would imagine the casting agencies out there would give you the same kinda notifications as they do here). Of course, if they need you for a scene involving a couple days, the agency will confirm with you that you can do this before committing you to the project. So no sweat. My advice, if you get the call, screw work and school for a day. :yay:
