The Dark Knight Rises OFFICIAL: Batman in the Burgh - - Part 11

True. I just don't want it to come to an end is all, but we all know saying -- all good things must come to an end. This trilogy was incredible. I still remember skipping school to catch Batman Begins.

Cheers!

I'm right there with ya man! I was trying to put a positive spin on it, but yeah, I'll be bummed out when I finally leave the theater for the last time during it's run.

I think one of my fondest memories of Begins in the theater was when Batman was interrogating Flass in the rain. I think that was when I understood that Nolan really got the characters and that made me grin from ear to ear.

Have a good one Doomsday!

Thank you Pittsburgh Ninjas! Each one of you helped make summer 2011 a truly special one for Batman fans. Now onto LA! Anyone else amazed that filming for TDKR is more than halfway done?! :wow:

They don't leave till Thursday? I thought they were done today? Or do you mean finishing clean up and such?

Finish packing everything/cleaning up/rebuilding parts of the city they destroyed :hehe:

I visited Pittsburgh when I was an extra for the Heinz Field shoot. It was an incredible experience, and I met some very cool people. I am really saddened that Nolan and his crew are moving on. Pittsburgh during that time was just a wickedly cool place to visit and experience and you can tell the entire city was immersed into the whole filmmaking experience of The Dark Knight Rises.

I think what's made everything even more special and incredible were the various Pittsburgh Ninjas that captured so many cool and wild moments. There are some skeptics that think it is going "ruin" the film, but I digress. I think one of the coolest aspects about observing a film from afar is seeing little tidbits and how things are going to come together... because quite frankly at this stage we have very little actual idea about how everything is going to come together. We're legitimately clueless, despite all of the "spoilers" we witnessed unveiled in Pittsburgh.

Regardless, I love these Batman movies because I feel like I have some sort of inexplicable connection to them and that's mostly because I feel like we are experiencing the movie as it happens. It makes the actual viewing experience that much more amazing because we remember where we were when certain things happened. I'll never forget being an extra at Heinz Field and hearing Tom Hardy speak as Bane for the very first time. I'll never forget being merely feet away from Christopher Nolan and Wally Pfister. I'll have those memories forever.

It really sucks that The Dark Knight Rises filming is winding down, and the fact that the production is leaving Pittsburgh almost feels like the end of an era, but I'm excited that we're still in the thick of the journey. I'm excited to have those memories and the experiences that I've went through thanks to Pittsburgh and the production of The Dark Knight Rises. There's so much more yet to discover. And I can't wait to discover it!

Hehe that's cool. So what does it mean game on then? I'm sorry I just got confused lol.

Batcopter should be there on friday...if you can spare the time it is well worth seeing with your own eyes. Such an amazing piece of engineering. Oh and stunt Batman will be there as well.

Clearing my schedule as we speak! :yay:

Just that once they leave (and I don't have to fear for my life) I'll share some stories and little interesting bits about the production.

Definitely one of the coolest experiences of my life, having THIS movie film in the city I live, blocks away in either direction of where I live. If anyone's familiar with Pittsburgh, I live between Downtown and Oakland (little strip called "Uptown") in a very Batman-esque top-floor loft apartment with roof access. I was able to drive by black sportscar 5 minutes either way to watch filming - kinda made me FEEL like Bruce Wayne, just goin' to work! And then I got to be a football extra, meet Charles Roven and Tim Crowley and others, and I think you'll see my face in the movie...helmet off! Just an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience I'll never forget, and I'm truly grateful for.

Thank you WB, Chris Nolan, and most of all, God, for letting all of this happen right here!

Very cool I'm stoked for that!

Many thanks to all the Ninjas. You guy truly lived up to that name. :ninja:

Anne finally gets to ride the pod! ...kind of

cool but she's going the wrong way.:awesome:
the bad guys are going in the other direction.

I'm guessing she does one of those quick "bat turns" on the pod. and gets behind them.

I understand. Who we kidding? It's gonna get emotional when those credits pop up. :woot:

Same here Batty. My revelation came in the form of ANY Ra's al Ghul scene, and Batman making his first appearance in Nolan's trilogy (at the docks). I still get shivers down my spine when I witness that scene.

You too comrade!

Bruce: Uh... Selina. You're going on the opposite direction.:hehe:

:pal: Honestly did not expect that clip. I thought it was gonna be the clip from TDK of Batman driving the Batpod up the wall :lmao:

Dear ninjas,

Your work will exist forever, and Batman fans will forever be grateful for it, even years after TDKR, since your videos and pictures will make up for the most likely lack of special features on the blu-ray release.

Can anyone describe what's going on in this scene?

So true.

We know you so well, Nolan. :hehe:

Batman Begins had decent special features. I was surprised at the lack of decent special features for The Dark Knight.

Well, there were the two features on the disc provided some insight into filming and the creative decisions. But, what was missing was behind-the-scenes video/interviews with Ledger.

EDIT: It was terrific to watch Zimmer at work.

Bot Selina on the Batpod and batman in the Batcopter are shooting at the Bomb Truck convoy, it is at this point a Tumbler gets blown into the road and gets destroyed (Cherry Way). Next up a second tumbler is destroyed by Selina. A few minutes later later a third Tumbler plows into Smithfield garage and blows up.

Farewell Banemobiles...your time is up
