You sure about that?

Adam West Batman was VERY trippy and full of subversive, hippy elements. Half those big "BAM" POW" fight sequences usually ended in an orgy after the director called cut. :o

I'll just stick to reading about the proper lesbian version of Kate in Batwoman each month

That's the only version of the character I'm interested in spending my time and money on :hrt:

A well known fact :ninja:

Was it actually Kate Kane or was it Kathy?

Cos, Y'know, there is a difference if we follow Morrison's law (getting so unbeliably high and watching Howard the Duck while writing.)

Isn't that how all writers work?

Have I been doing it wrong all this time :wow:

I feel like the only Batwoman that would really be appropriate for the Adam West Batman series would be the Batwoman from the Silver Age who fought crime with a purse, had stories with her marrying Batman, and was only created so that people would stop calling Batman gay. She's an absurd and campy character that belongs in an absurd and campy book (and I don't mean that as a bad thing).

Personally I like to sacrifice a live goat before I set to writing. Always helps to have one of Satan's go to guys checking for spelling errors.

Actually if I remember right, even Kurosawa realised that the modern Kate Kane is superior to the silver age Kathy

Which she is, in every possible way :hrt:

You mean *****e bags?

And people with absolutely no taste

But Sam Raimi also made Spiderman 3

I'm not saying that a steady diet of goat meat destroyed his mind and compelled him to make that film

But can we know for sure that isn't what happened?

I think it's proven that Arad was secretly poisoning him during production.

Between forcing Venom on Rami, hiring Brett Ratner and Zak Penn for X3, Louis Leterrier and Zak Penn (again) for TIH, that's 3 franchises he's soiled. The man won't stop until the whole world is full of mediocrity and Topher Graces.

Only Adam West could stop him.

OK, guys, it's been a few years since I've bought any new Batman GN or TPB. I've hearing a lot about Morrison's Batman run, but I'm a bit lost where to start, what TPB's should I buy, etc. So could anyone please give me a rundown of the essential TPB's and their order that I should buy to get a grasp of his Batman saga?

Also, any good Batman Graphic Novels that came out in the last 3 or 4 years?

I've never understood why people criticize The Incredible Hulk. I thought that movie was fantastic. The original Hulk by Lee sucked, yes, but Incredible fit the description.

I found this reading list regarding TPBs.

Batman and Son
The Black Glove
Batman Rip (note: the ending here won't line up with what comes next, but it's eventually explained)
Final Crisis
Batman & Robin: Batman Reborn
Batman & Robin: Batman vs. Robin (Chapters 1-3)
Batman: Time and the Batman (Chaper 1)
Batman & Robin: Batman vs. Robin (Chapters 4-6)
The Return of Bruce Wayne
Batman and Robin: Batman Must Die (Chapters 1-3)
Batman:Time and the Batman (Chapters 2-3)
Batman and Robin: Batman Must Die (Chapter 4)
Batman Incorporated

That doesn't seem to include the second volume of Batman Incorporated, and that might not even be out yet, but the second volume would obviously go after the first in the end there.

As for other trades that's good, check out Batman: Gates of Gotham (though this might ruin stuff from the middle of Morrison's run if you aren't familiar with it). It's a stand alone mini by Snyder and Higgins. I've also enjoyed Snyder's Batman run, so I recommend those (Court of Owls, then Night of the Owls for starters).

Eh, even though it was boring at times, I liked Ang Lee's version better at least that one tried at depth.
TIH was wasted potential for me, partly because it hammered away with the Bill Bixby references and partly because of Norton, whom I was really dissapointed with. Dude should have done for Hulk what Chris Reeve did for Supes but it seemed halfhearted. Maybe if I had seen the original cut of the film then I'd change my mind but I just couldn't feel the film. Ruffalo is where it's at for me.

Also, on the topic of film adaptions, little Franky Miller is working on B/S. yaaay

:wow:

I guess that means we can look forward to characters repeating lines of dialogue no less than six times in each scene while Bruce rants about being the goddamn Batman while slapping Clark around

If Robin is in the film I demand that he be referred to as Dick Grayson, age twelve in every single scene

I had a horrible idea today what if Frank Miller ends up playing Batman in B/S.

ya know what, whatever. He wrote the book that defined Batman/Superman fights.

And reduced Superman to a Fascist tool....that's not even starting on the can of worms that is All Star Batman & Robin.

Frank Miller needs to stay as far a way from Batman/Superman as possible, both in terms of the film and comics. He did some great things in the past, but those times are gone, and the Frank Miller that exists now...(shudders)
