Here's a decent read order of the Clone Saga for you to go off of. It seems fairly legit so I'd think you can trust it.
With my funds, "means that we're not supposed to talk about" is about the only way I can read comics these days. And since back when I had to sell the majority of my comic collection to make ends meet, I got so far behind that I just gave up. Now I just buy trades whenever I have extra money.
However, I am going to start a new hobby in the comic field. I'm going to bind comics into hardback volumes. I'm starting with Spidey and what I'm doing is I'm buying comics for as cheap as I can when I decide to make a volume and then I'm sending them off and they'll be bound. This way I'll have a good 20 to 25 issues bound in a nice hardback collection how I like it that looks great on my shelf, much better than the white boxes everywhere. I'm doing Spidey first starting in the early 90's when I started reading them and i'm intermingling all four titles in readable order for one sitthrough read. I'm just waiting on my comic-order from milehigh to come in so I can figure out the order to do for the first 2 or 3 volumes that I'm starting with.
I plan to eventually have my entire comic collection converted to hardbacks. I don't care about the value of them, so it's no biggie that they have to cut the comics up to turn them into a hardcover volume. I was hesitant about the price, but I found a binder who does it for fairly cheap. $15 for a volume that's up to 2 1/2 inch thick (roughly 25 issues, though they suggest sticking around 2 inches thick). That covers the binding, the hardcover (or fake leather) the words on the spine, a ribbon marker, etc. It costs extra if I want to add things like stamps of images on the cover, or extra lines on the spine, or pages being removed from the comics (something you can do yourself), but that's a good price really.

No comment. So, does anyone know what month COM will be over? I just need to know if I'll be able to stay for the whole competition or not.
sweet...thanks I should be able to compete all the way through then. Some time in May or June, I think. We've got whatever is left of this round, then eight weeks, then four, then two, then one.
No good for me. I'm gonna be hella busy round about then. Some time in May or June, I think. We've got whatever is left of this round, then eight weeks, then four, then two, then one.

Wow that does actually look pretty good. I don't think I could ever do it though.
Edit: By "=Awesome", do you mean that you would consider it?

Fair pointYou're assuming you're going to mak it all the way through?
By that time, most everyone will probably only have one or two characters left to debate with.
I don't collect them for what they're worth either but the problem is I still have to pay what they're worth (unless I'm lucky) when I buy them.I debated it for a long while, and if I was still in the mind of collecting comics for their worth, then I couldn't do it. But these days I collect because I enjoy the stories, not for the money of it. Then I had to sell my comics and I'm hesitant to buy them all back just to sit on my shelf (because I never actually open the bags to read them). I find that I always look at my trades though, and so I put two and two together. And by removing staples and pages, I mean just that. If I remove the staples of the comics I want bound and extra pages I don't want in the hardback (letter pages, adds that don't have actual story pages on the back of them, etc) then I'm saving both room in the trade for more story, and I'm saving a $10.00 charge per volume.
When bound they do look great and I'd probably end up reading them slightly more often (although I've got no qualms about taking them out of their bags as many times as necessary) but I'd be worried about the condition of the pages deteriorating unless there's some way of protecting them from air/moisture etc. Deterioration doesn't matter so much with regular books but the artwork in comic pages loses it's sheen relatively quickly. I'd love to have both a bound set and a free set
