i'm gonna approach the bold first. I know that, that's why i went back to edit my post. I know your not directing it towards everyone who doesnt like the movie.

and let me know if you hadnt used any of these terms "haters, complainers, G1 fanboys (loose term)"??





are u assuming?? Now "Marvin" I know you're smarter then that to assume. I dont know anyone on this board. In a personal or cyber level.

I never use hater or complainers...and funny enough I consider myself a G1 fanboy. I am old enough to have been around the first explosion of Transformers in the 80's. I had all the toys. As a child I was one of the testers of the transformers since I had a family friend who worked for Hasbro and got all the toys on discount. I would never use G1 fanboy as a negative term.

Yep. It seems like a bit of a miscommunication somwhere there.

I am in film school and I had a friend who went to see the movie and was mad about it. He rattled off all manner of technical reason for why the movie was terrible. I asked him if he watched porn.
He said yes.
I asked him if he examines cinematography, framing, lighting, pathos, storyarcs or directing while watching....he obviously said no.
I told him that these movies are cinematic porn.
There is a reason why its called a popcorn movie. Popcorn has no nutritional value. No one examines popcorn. You eat it as a snack.
This movie is no different.
Yes I liked this movie...but I went in knowing it was gonna be a snack.

I understand but there's still a difference. Porn is porn, it's never gonna be taken serious. But popcorn movies can be taken serious, or some parts of it can be taken serious. regradless if it's a summer flick, it has explosions, sexy teens or big friggin robots. It can still be taken serious as well as still have comedic relief if done well. It's not an impossible task.

worse character development EVER. why the **** do the auto bots NEVER converse in regular banter unless its humor bay is attempting with the mini bots???? they got more to say in the movie than the ones we were introduced to in the first movie

You must have loved megatrons Soliloquy though.

Snake eyes doesn't say all but 2 words and he does fine.

In a nutshell, I love these movies simply for the action, effects, and comedy. They do all those really well. Sam and the Autobots are all likable and help the series a lot, and the musical scores are phenomenal. I think the first one is the best and can't be topped, but the third is better than the second. I don't hate the second, it's fun.

not really. These movies are for people to go in and shut their minds off and be entertained.
They werent meant to be dwelled upon, dissected and reviewed.

maybe its cause Im getting older but I just dont see getting mad over a movie I had nothing to do with

The only cons in this movie are decepticons har har har.

The movie starts off pretty strong. The mythos behind the moon landing is played with and I liked that. The actors playing Kennedy and Dick were good and not overly dumb. It only gets dumb like in the first one when they go over the top with the actor playing Obama like they did with the actor playing Bush. It was just cheesy.

Then the movie gets super fast and everything is thrown at you in the typical Bay boom boom end fashion. Shockwave is badass when he is introduced in Russia but we never learn anything about him and it's rather lame because he is a side villain. Sentinel and Megatron are again the main villains of the movie. Soundwave is also pretty much just swept under the rug and I don't even remember him talking. The lead in to the big Chicago battle is just like instant after a blacked out screen and I thought that was dumb. **** show them entering Chicago from the moon bridge. You see like a few Decepticons run through and the screen goes black and then all of a sudden they have invaded Chicago.

There really isn't any grand action pieces until the big finale. I liked the freeway chase but it was more of a freeway run. It isn't anything as awesome as the freeway chase from the first one. The Chernobyl battle is also pretty weak and fast and didn't top the second movie's opening scene with Optimus in China.

However, the entire final act is pure awesome. The story really is boring in the middle with all the Carly and Sam stuff woven into the humans working for the Decepticon stuff.

Cheesy one liners, over the top humor, body gags, and terrible dialogue once again plague Bay. The story is okay but it really is too much. The movie can cut about 20 minutes as it felt a little long

Overall, 6.5/10. It's better than the second but I still like the first the most. It would be a little higher if the deaths had more of payoff and lead in because I don't give a **** when Iron Hide dies and I don't jump out of my seat when Soundwave or Shockwave dies because they have maybe 5-10 minutes of screen time. It's a fun big budget action movie.

Green Lantern is still the worse big summer movie so congrats Bay!

Shockwave is introduced in the game prequel. Also you can see Megatron change from his tank mode in ROTF to the truck in the film .

I think it was cool to have the actual Buzz Aldrin meeting Optimus. That's something they would have done in the original G1 or the comics.
