Neil Gaiman has said that he will be writing, producing, and directing a film based on the three part Death: The High Cost of Living mini series. So, seems fair that a thread be made. My first question is, who would your ideal cast be?

Gaiman's said he'll be doing it and I'm fairly certain it's officially been greenlit. Anyway, about the cast, I only have one suggestion.....

Death: Summer Glau

Question for you...uh...Question:

Is it just me, or does it seems to me that every movie you cast, is the lead a cast member from Firefly?

:o

The man does love his firefly. And I can't find the death comic anywhere but i'll go see the movie just for Summer.

Nope. Adam Baldwin only had a supporting role as The Parasite in my dream Superman film. :woot:

You must read Death: The High Cost of Living. Death is life (and if you you read Sandman and are familiar with the dual nature of each of the Endless, that actually makes sense).

I see it every once in a while at my shop, but I either don't have any money on me or I'm searching for something else.

Get it. It's like Jesus, only about a cute embodyment of death instead of a cute jewish priest.

Even though I'm a bit wary since Gaiman has never directed a movie before I'm still looking forward to this a lot. As far as who should play Death herself, I'm leaning towards either Drew Barrymore or Natalie Portman.

a Death movie has been in "development" for years, but I hope Gaiman is ready to do it

Okay, but one question...

...

You think Jesus is cute? :wow:

It still makes me sad that they can't make a Sandman trilogy, but I'm psyched. However, what I'm really psyched for are Stardust and Coraline.

Well, The Sandman doesn't adapt well to a film at all. The High Cost of Living, however, does quite nicely. I wonder if they'd even bring in Keanu Reeves for the STD PSA at the end. :woot:

They're making movies out of those?

i didn't make 'em.

do a google search for the words: "Gaiman" "Portman" "stalker" and "archive."

Portman?

Meh, I'm not really digging it.

And yes, those pictures are a bit creepy.

I still say Summer Glau. I think she just looks more like Death. Some other pics:

I think an animated Sandman series for like HBO would be awesome, but only if they like directly adapt the series in animated form, from beginning to end
