Official Early Bought/Thought Thread **SPOILERS**

I get some of my subs early, and I know some people always want some spoilers. I've tried putting it in a B/T thread, but that goes over like a lead balloon, because everyone seems to want to make it. And putting it in the solicit thread doesn't seem right either. So I thought I'd just have a running thread for early arrivals. Note the bold. This is not to replace the regular weekly B/T threads. Some weeks I might not even put anything in it. Anyone who gets advanced copies or early subs are welcome to join in.

There will definately be spoilers in here. I'll use spoiler tags (for some reason that upsets some people. Go figure), but I don't mind if other people don't. You've been warned.

Do you mean Amazing Spider-Man. It came out two weeks ago. I get some early, but two weeks would be really pushing it. I think the earliest I ever got one was the Friday before the Wednesday they come out.

Everyone knows I'm not a fan of crap threads that repeat the same stuff another pertinent thread should be for, but......I REEEEEEEEEEEALLY hope someone else makes a separate B/T thread. This one should be boycotted!

Sorry guys. I kept trying to post a review of Uncanny and She-Hulk yesterday, but everytime I hit Submit, it didn't post. (It is kind of funny, though, that I made a B/T thread with no reviews )

And this thread is only for early reviews, as I posted before. Please continue to make (and fight about who gets to make) the regular B/T.

Not much point to doing an early review today, so I'll just throw out a few tidbits:

Uncanny X-Men 485

The big fight begins. Xavier gets some arms and legs blown off, and then gets thrown in the M'Kraan Crystal. Darwin goes in after him. Vulcan kills D'Ken and declares himself Emperor. Sorta hoping they leave it that way for a while, it could be interesting.


She-Hulk 17

Jen skanks it up with Tony. 'nuff said.

Ultimate Spider-Man #108 - I usually don't get this one early, so I had to look if it was for last week. But early it is. Kingpin hires a new assassin, Ronin, who is a new personality for Moon Knight. Lots of internal monologue amongst his various personalities (been done before, but still pretty fun). Kingpin sends him out to prove himself by bringing back Spidey. Ronin goes and terrorizes Mid-Town, and gets whomped on a little by Kitty. Eventually he gets the upper hand on her and then Spidey, and delivers him to the Kingpin. This story really took a downturn when they revealed Iron Fist to be a traitor so early on. If that's the way it really turns out, he should have left it for later. I'm hoping IF is really more like a double agent, "giving up" Moon Knight in order to get close to Kingpin.

I also got Moon Knight #9. Just skimmed throught it, though.

Calm down. I only made this for people who like spoilers early. No one has to read or contribute to it, and I've said multiple times that the regular B/T thread should still be made (along with all the requisite whining about who makes it, and when, and how no reviews are in it, etc, etc)

Boycott? Really? Seems like a lot of energy for something infinitesimally trivial. But whatever floats your boat.

Got in the mail last night:



Fantastic Four #545- Great! The best the FF has been in a while. I'm surprised how much I like the addition of Ororo and T'Challa. They give a great dynamic with Ben and Johnny. Black Panther has a great moment taking the Silver Surfer off guard until he gets pot-shotted by Stardust. Oh, and the return of Gravity with this great quote: "Okay, fight's over folks---- the protector of the Universe has, you know, spoken."

Fallen Son Death Of Captain America Avengers - The comic is split between the Mighty Avengers fighting a big bad sea creature controlled by Tiger Shark, and a New Avengers poker game with the Thing. Great dialogue, especially in the poker game.

Got two in the mail yesterday, New Excalibur and FNSM-one late, and one early.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #20- Been really enjoying the "periphery" spider-titles lately. I can't put my finger on it, but they remind me of how "Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man" was in parts of the 80s, when it still had that title. A little more outrageous, yet fun, stories (Carrion, the Spider-Amoeba, Spider Lizard come to mind), and a good supporting cast (Deb Whitman, ESU, etc). As far as FNSM#20 goes : It starts out with a great moment of Spidey outside May's hospital room, and heads right into another one with Betty Brant. One more of the kind of moments that I looked forward to with the release of his identity. The rest of the issue is about Miss Arrow. If people have already guessed who she is, congrats, because I didn't. It turns out she's kind of like Swarm, except she's made up of the spiders that ate Pete's original body (everybody together now...EWWWWWWWWW) Some really good Flash moments, with Pete, Arrow, and a new character, that I hope ends up in the cast. Kind of a tom-boy friend that Flash brings to Bowling practice to teach some of his cocky students a lesson Oh, and a great gag with a pair of rental bowling shoes.
