I think they're missing a few issues. They only listed the scarlet spider titles, but the preview suggests there should be more...hmmm.

I don't think they leave out some stories. The first books are pretty much complete, I wouldn't expect anything else here.
It's going to be interesting to see how many books are still coming after that.

Well if it's including SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN #0, it's definitely missing Web of Scarlet Spider 3-4 and New Warriors #67.

I think those issues are after Sensational 0 in continuity. They most likely wanted Sensational 0 to be the big costume reveal. I think the last two issues of Final Adventure featured the new costume two and are omitted.

For me his return was not very surprising.
Whenever I saw this preview page of Peter in his Horizon Lab seeing the last member of the group and being shocked, I thought that it was

who was working right next to Peter.
The seeing the teaser for Spider-Island only confirmed my guess.

I am just glad he has the 90's look. I was afraid that after this small appearance in the punisher book they would do some crazy stuff with him, so out of character.
But from this one picture I got really excited that Marvel hit the right idea of him.

Jackal could reveal he has been holding Ben captive all this time and that the "Ben" we saw die was a clone he created of the clone (which would explain why the so called "perfect clone", who was "immune" to clone degeration, suddenly turned to dust). It would make sense because Jackal would have really hated to let Norman destroy his perfect creation...

No, you are not. I have had those dreams as well. However, there are always the back issues and the thought of the awesome potential that Ben Reilly could have carried into the Marvel U.

That's the Terminator you're thinking of, not Ben.

To be honest, I'm not even sure I want him to come back. Look at how they've stuffed up Peter's character the last few years... and he's the main guy in the book. Actually they'll probably treat Ben in a similar manner to how they treated Phil Urich. They'll make him evil, with at best a terrible, paper-thin explanation that goes against everything that's been established about his character. Then they'll kill him off at the end of the arc... again. And Peter won't even care.

I hope I'm wrong. But that's how I would see a Ben Reilly return playing out at the moment. But I would be very happy to be proven wrong about all that.

Yeah with the Jackal arc coming up I would be surprised if we didn't get anything Ben related. I wonder if all of the Ben-centric stories and material was really testing the water to see if he should have been a central character in Spider-Island....

Man, SHS has such a hodge-podge of different eras going on. Cyclops in his 90s suit while Jean is in her 60s. Got Excalibur Shadowcat and Ultimate FF. Original War Machine and amped-up Nova. X-Men White Queen and 70s Storm.

Marvel makes money off of Ben how many tradebacks were made from the clone saga? The name "Scarlet Spider" is still being used by the MVP clone.... oh and this is still coming out

There's an interview with Dan Slott over at Newsarama. There are some words about the Jackal, the clone saga an Ben Reilly.

But really the "rumors" are only as solid as anyone thinking that Aunt May will be Spider-Man, too. There's really zero evidence that points to it happening.
