I have to say that animation is dearly missed, good job Demo, same in the Ock thread too, any more perhaps...? ;)

The 1994 Goblin, in undeniably the best laugh and voice, imo.
The 1994 Hobgoblin would have had the best voice and laugh if he wan't already stapled as Joker...

Even though I loved 94's Green Goblin's locked in a room full of heilium voice. I do prefer the raspy sounding TSSM Green Goblin voice and laugh though. He tends to change his tone a bit too which makes him more interesting IMO. "You do have that annoying tendancy to, well, survive" And the whole "We all wear masks" speach sounded so sinister (a word that they wouldn't allow 90's Spider-Man to use but yet 90's X-Men did). I have to admit, initially I hated Green Goblin's TSSM design, but after "The Uncertanty Principle" I grew to love it.

However, all and all both Green Goblin voices are great and I can call both of them in my head whenever I please. However, TSSM's Norman blows TAS's Norman out of the water.

Agreed on all the comments on VA work for both versions--just excellent work all around, especially on Spectacular's sudden foreboding drops in tone, just makes the Green Goblin seem all the more unstable and unpredictable. (And nice to see someone else noticed STAS!Goblin's occasional biting sarcasm.)

The show is kid-friendly; it's just geared toward kids who have seen three increasingly violent movies surrounding this character.

LOL, I forgot about that. Yep, the kids are getting more allowances (YAY! for the older viewers)...

I think thats exactly what Howard Mackie had in mind when he wrote the story. It was only a two part story and the surprise was sprung on us on the last page of Part One. (The Goblin had been attacking Peter's friends and its revealed at the end that it was Peter in the costume, drugged and hypnotized to be the attacker.) Part Two was all about the battle of wills between the captured Peter and Norman as Spidey refuses to take the Goblin Formula. Then the whole "heir" angle of the relationship was dropped from future stories, except for Sins Past.

Hmmm...I think at least in Paul Jenkins' "Death in a Family," they referenced it for continuity's sake--though I admit it's not clearly built upon thematically. That plot boiled down to Norman trying to commit suicide by having Spider-Man finally kill him, thus tainting Peter in the process. And...I think that's it--I don't think there were any other clear indications Norman or Peter picking up that 'heir' angle. Damn. I guess I just had the feeling they continued with it; Norman and Peter's superhero-archenemy conflict has gotten so twisted and messed up that I can still see the 'heir' thing under the surface, though it's never referred to. (The only other thing that comes to mind is a recent Spider-Girl plot, where another of Norman's from-the-grave plans go into motion, and through mad science, a digital copy of his consciousness is download into an older Peter, and Norman 'returns'--though I guess that's REALLY more revenge, than the 'heir' plot again.)

I LOVED Goblin's 'mask' speech--it had a great delivery, great animation, and it sounded kinda meaningful to me, like it said something about superheroes/supervillains in general.

Just focusing on Norman--yeah, TSSM's Norman gets to be more of a badass than TAS's Norman. Calling out the guy who's the only one between you and a long drop to becoming a bright red mess on the pavement? BADASS. (In retrospect, makes me rather think that lil' hostage situation may've given TSSM's Norman his taste for flying...)

Anyone know if the Green Goblin plays a big role (or at least an amusing cameo) in the recent Spider-Man video game, Web of Shadows?

I've only seen a few clips on youtube but I dont believe Osborn is involved at all. There was some things that ride around on something like gliders but I dont have the slightest idea who or what they are.

The guys on the gliders use stolen technology, they did the same with Iron Man's armor. They work for the Kingpin.

Like I said in Ock's Lair, I drew this Green Goblin pic today that I was going to post on here, but my scanner don't work. I'm sad now.

Post it whenever you can. No rush. Fan art is always welcome.

Thank you for seeing my point.

Haven't seen hide nor hair of him thus far, but I just started playing it. The game focuses mainly on symbiotes (boo!) and the closest thing I've seen to a Goblin is some wanna-be's on gliders.

That makes no sense to me. Why make up "Goblins?" Since so many of Spidey's enemies show up in the game, why not have the real thing? A symbiote enhanced Goblin? Now I'm curious.

Also, Symbiock would have been cool. And how the heck does Electro use his powers without frying his alien? Isnt fire one of their weaknesses? And whats up with airlines not offering peanuts anymore?

Are we all looking forward to American Son arc?

I hope Norman is a bit more Spidey focused in this, and doesn't get lost in the Menace being preggers stuff.

Honestly, I havent really thought about it. I will hold off excitement or murderous rage until after I have read the story.

I have no idea whats happening here. People are always spelling my name wrong and its irritating but it looks like it bugs Norm even more. :cwink:

The Goblin wannabes were meant to be a villain meant to fight throughout the game, as Kingpin's henchmen. They would have to have the Goblin(s) escape every time Spidey fought them.

Also, Electro's powers are electricity, not fire. ;)

Meh, I'd still rather have an actual Goblin. :oldrazz:

And electricity creates heat. :cwink:

They were good enough. This is the only time I heard people talk about them really.

True, electricity cause heat, but Id think they'd have some degree of protection against heat. Like it has to be at a certain temp.

I'd also prefer an actual Goblin, the only time we've really seen him in a video game console beyond the 90's is the Spider-man movie game, which was good in it's own right, but I need something fresher.

It's weird I know, about the heat, maybe there's more to it, anyways I try not to let it get to me, because I enjoyed the Electro-Symbiote characters.

OMG, where is that from, and what's the context? :woot:

Yeah, I've been thinking of a retrospect of the Green Goblin in videogames...and I just come up with the first movie version. And though I've never played it, I think the Spidey Team-Up with Foes & Friends had him in a larger capacity too. Maybe that Utlimate Spider-Man game had him, but I dunno (also, I really don't care for Ultimate that much--no glider? That is a deal-breaker right there; at least with Indian!Spider-Man it was clear with the supernatural demonic angle...)

And apparently they don't go with the real thing, just KingPin minions in Web of Shadows (though that game still looks amazing). Suffice to say, I'd like to see the actual Goblin, Norman Osborn, in more Spider-Man videogame offerings, especially with the quality of games in graphics and storytelling and VA's like constantly going up--I want to see Norman get in on the action.
