I think Hal and Kyle actually try to conceal their identity but John and Guy dont really care. I guess it depends on who you use. But at the same time it probably doesnt make a huge difference anyway

John had the mask originally when he became GL but he opted to remove it because according to him, people had a tough enough time trusting a black guy nevermind a black guy in a mask, so he removed his stating he's got nothing to hide.

I'm just looking at the GL mask from a practicality point of view, it's not much in terms of identity prevention, so if it has no real use, it seems a little redundant.

It does in superhero land. Im sure it helps more than taking off glasses and slicking back your hair

Which is why Kyle made it a point to have a bigger mask that covered up a greater portion of his face.

I'm looking at this from the view of DC using the more mature tones, if one is going with that tone such a flimsy mask just seems pointless unless it has some genuine functionality.

As far as GL eyeware I thought green tinted sunglasses would work. Functionality being protecting them from stars/suns while flying through space. Looking kinda like the protective eyeware in S.W.A.T.. Also reminds me of the Silver Surfer. He could fly if he wanted but to conserve energy he created the surfboard (i read that somewhere, dont know if its actually true).

I think the mask isn't all that because the ring just knows the wearer wants to cover his face. Hal's not that creative so if he thinks "****, I need a mask!" and that's all he can come up with it makes sense.

There's a scene in the Superman:TAS that introduced Kyle that better describes what I'm trying to say; where Kyle is about to be thanked by a crowd and as he covers his face a mask just appears on him.

He is perfect! He looks just like the Alex Ross painting. They should use the Alex Ross Costume as well. As a matter of fact, just hire him the way Favreau hired Adi Granov for Iron Man.

I've been think along the same lines in terms of eye wear, I just need info as to whether the mask actually did anything first. Funny you mention SWAT, I'm kinda basing my GL artwork on police protective gear.

I understand, I just wanted that out there for those who may not be familiar with GL mythos, it gives more insight into Johns personality. I was a big fan of Johns long before JLU made him more popular to the mainstream. I still have that Mosaic issue where he absorbed his ring into him and the Guardians refer to him as brother

I would really love if Nathan Fillion got the role, he's definitely my top choice for hal. But if WB decided to go younger, I could see picking this guy:

Because he looks like a younger Nathan Fillion, with a mix of Aaron Eckhart. His name is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

As for Daniel Day Lewis, I wouldn't mind him, but his voice would need to be a bit tweaked in my opinion.

Daniel Day-Lewis would be the absolute dream casting choice for Sinestro.

Of course, by "dream casting", I mean it's literally nothing more than a dream. It'd never happen. But the filmmakers would be dumb if they didn't at least TRY to woo him for the part. t:
