If we can buy The Comedian's and Ozy's domino masks, then we can buy Hal Jordan's. Green Lantern is a franchise where you have get on board and go' with it.
I gotta disagree. I'm one that's very picky of CGI, and I have no issues being convinced at realistic sfx, in spite of knowledge that it is fake. Transformers 1 blew me away, District 9's aliens impressed me, and Benjamin Button was glorious to watch. The question I guess is what's the acceptable level? We're talking about strange creatures and suits made out of light here, not exactly easy things to make look real no matter how good the effects are, subconsciously our brains will always step in and tell us these things can't exist.
So what is going on with this viral marketing?
Evidence is a wonderful thing, and I'm pleased to hear there might actually be some for this so-called anomaly. Four kids with a telescope is one thing. Five kids with two telescopes is still not an emergency redirect of a multi-million dollar telescope, but it becomes more interesting.
If you're serious about this and have other friends with telescopes, you know what to do.

Sounds legit.

C'mon, man. Anybody can get their hands on a copy of the GL script nowadays (just ask prtocida). Rule number one: a true Green Lantern fan would never dis the project even if it was bad (he/she would just keep his/her mouth shut). Thus guy is a fake. From what I have been gathering just from people on the street is that the in general like comic book movies and are looking forward to seeing all of them (especially "Thor", "Green Lantern", and "Captain America") this year. Furthermore, if the studio knew that there were problems with the film they would have reshot those scenes that were bad months ago or would have moved the release date back (and fired the director - like they did with "Punisher: Warzone"). This rock and bull story you heard is just that.To be honest, this Nelson guy is a Green Lantern fan (he proved it by stating that he read one of the old Green Lantern scripts). I would be surprised if he is telling the truth since he has been very hush hush on the matter, and you're right, he is the only one who said that there was screenings for Green Lantern.

Did you see it in 3D?
Nope, both times I saw Thor was in regular 2D.
Another question I should ask is if you came in late or were you there in time for the previews?
I don't know about all of that, but I'd question why the studio would put up an additional 9 million dollars in SFX if there were problems with the film...
