When you make something as awesome as Casino Royale, it doesn't matter if the rest of your movies are mediocre.

And Goldeneye, my personal favorite Bond flick.

That's an arguement I've been making for a long time. Westerns lasted what? 50-70 years before they began to fizzle. And even then they never died out.

They still make the occasional western, or turn the genre on its ear like the Cowboys and Aliens.

The genre of the Western is more than 100 years old ("The Great Train Robbery" was released in 1903) and is the major defining genre of the American film industry. It had its heyday from the 1930's to the 1960's and had a resurgence in the 1990's. What really waned it's popularity was Television and the fact that a lot of the B movie westerns moved over to the small screen during the 1950's and 1960's (i.e. it wasn't necessarily due to a lack of interest). Note that they sill make a few westerns today. Comic book genre could survive just as long if there isn't another medium (like the Internet for example) that could displace people wanting to go to the theaters to see them.

Saw thor last night. It was pretty decent. I think GL can top it just based on the trailers.

Casino Royale is my favorite.

Especially the chase scene in Madagascar.

Cambell didnt make just 2 awesome movies.Goldeny ande Casino Royale

lets not forget the fantastic entertaining Mask of Zorro . fantastic cast,humor,chemistry,action,.......
i know that the sequel was bad and that its ''zorro''. but that movie in 98 was faaaantastic.

Indeed; GoldenEye was my favourite before Casino Royale came out. Royale was tuned more to my personal tastes.

Both were awesome. And what's more, he not only made two awesome Bond movies, but he successfully rebooted the franchise twice with those movies.

It does matter if Green Lantern turns out to be just as mediocre :p .

If the final product bounces from being good to pretty good, good to ok, and to bad just a little bit (or something like that), then I think that I am in good hands. I'm expecting nothing more than a faithful, entertaining, and fun Green Lantern movie.

Totally agree - i've just seen Thor, though it was ok - but from the trailers i'm expecting GL to be far better...

I almost wish they'd release a third trailer for the heck of it. :funny:

Well, there's still time for that. What we might get to see less than 42 days out are clips from scenes in the film. There should be at least 3 of those.

Thor was.. satisfactory, but not great. The GL movie will show to audiences what the word EPIC means to be.

I'm not sure where we should go from here, aside from the soon to be released movie novel and movie score. Before June creeps up. Oh yeah, we could discuss round 2 pertaining the buzz now that the 2nd trailer will be seen tomorrow in movie theaters and beyond.

In the past, did Warner Brothers show clips from previous comic book movies before their theatrical debuts? I can't think of any occurrences like that from the past.

And Batman certainly can continue forever. Nolan isn't the be all/end all for Batman. And it would be a ridiculous mentality to think that.

I am surprised that many people are happy with most of Marvel movies (yes, they are good but not great,

Thumbs up for both opinions. Its something what is recorrent, but the fans are little blind about all this. I have hear many more people pointing the same old problems in Marvel Studios movies in Thor (exemple: hold the potencial, to fast to tell the history, not goind deep in right aspects, etc.)

They were clips from Dark Knight released a week or two before the movie. One of them was the rooftop meeting between Batman, Gordon, and Dent. There were some released for Superman Returns as well. They probably will release some from GL.

I seem to remember the Joker party crash scene being released also.

Compared to Thor, Cap and even X-men comments about GL are just down right vicious, it's almost as if people are offended by the character. GL fans are on board, movie nerds are the ones who seem to be calling for its demise.

I feel like some people didn't like the first trailer and made up their minds early up that they were going to hate the whole movie. I keep seeing comments that GL looks campy, goofy, etc., and that makes no sense to me. I don't see how anyone could watch the second trailer and not see an epic story.

They showed 10mins of Batman Begins footage during a episode of smallville.
