I didn't see the trailer when I saw Thor. And I went to a popular Regal that has 30 screens

I'm gonna play Devil's advocate: let's say GL is a bad film.

This is probably why DC and WB are so damn quiet. When's the last time we have heard from the new DC president? It's okay to be quiet but this is too quiet. Keep in mind that Nolan is governing his on films, so DC Entertainment aren't directly involved with Bats and Supes.

I never hear studio heads besides Feige be vocal about anything. Did it always go over my head or something?

Can you do it from the angle of the opposite of Devil's advocate?

DC Enertainment as a whole seems to be a none entity since it's creation almost a year ago. Kevin has to be vocal because he runs a fairly new studio and is very fan friendly.

If Green Lantern is a big success, I would prepare to hear official sequels Asap come June.

Or it's likely they're building DC up in a big way at Comic Con, making this years their year to overshadow Marvel. Anythings possible but their silence is deafening.

yes Nolan has final cut and control. but just because he has a lot of freedom to make the movie that doesnt mean that WB is not watching him. they are looking where the money is going and they will be watching the editing. :)

i look at DC Entertainment as smart business men. Kevin on the other hand is a car salesman. good for him to sell a lot of s.... . but i am not buying it. :awesome:

What I meant is that Geoff Johns won't come in as an active member of the crew like Green Lantern. He might just do a visit and some unofficial supervising for bats or Supes but not at the level as a DCE film (ie The Flash, Wonder Woman)

Not saying that he has a perfect track record (Iron Man 2, being cheap) but so far as a whole.. he has been successful and his movies are making money. He's just very aggressive.

i think we all know that WB is not trying to do something different with GL. they are not trying to reinvent the wheel. this looks like a normal summer movie. and in the last 20 years we watched all superhero movies.so i think we all know exactly what to expect from GL.
so i think almost everyone who likes the trailers will like the movie. and who doesnt like the footage will not like the movie.

i can not respect a studio who's main and only interest is to connect characters in the same universum.when they will start focusing on seperate movies then we can talk .right now they are kids playing with toys.

IM 2 made money. but it didnt make enough money based on how big IM 2008 was. Hulk was underperforming. Marvel is cheap as cheap as it can be.

we always complain about WB because the color of the boots and cape is not correct. with Marvel its all faihful. but WB at least pays money for big budget movies. GL is very expensive. its a huge risk for WB.
sorry but other comicbook movies from this and last year looked cheap . but the ticket price is always the same. so WB deserves respect.

Why does the CGI look so terrible for this movie? For a big budget flick in 2011, it looks atrocious.

i think you have a problem with the design and not the quality of CGI. a good design can make CGI look good.

Oh come on. If you're a Catwoman fan, were you supposed to fake liking the movie even though you knew what the end result was going to be?

How did you guys see the GL trailer and I didn't? I must need to see Thor at a different theater or something.

It wasn't that bad (not as bad as a lot of folks on this website want to make it out to be). My kid like it and still watch it from time to time. I think a lot of folks have intimidated people into saying that the film was absolutely horrible for fear of being ridiculed. Like I said before, my brother saw the Green Lantern trailer in IMAX 3D. I don't know what everybody else saw nor where they saw it, but I do know some folks that saw the trailer.

No, I have a problem with the CGI itself. Couldn't care less about the design. I'm not a Green Lantern fanboy so I don't care about how faithful it is to the comics. I just saw a commercial for it on TV and the CGI is awful across the board.

I think 'the designs are fine but I think WEta or Ilm would have done a better job. But that's a moot point now.

Because somebody told you that the film would be CGI and that's not what you wanted maybe? The way you people complain about the CGI it is sickening. If you think that it is that bad consider how it would have been if they had not used CGI at all:

CGI looks fine to me, especially in the last trailer. But to each their own.

To each their own, but I'm guessing your kid will have a different opinion of Catwoman when he gets older. I know I did on a number of films I used like...

WETA and ILM couldnt make the exact shot from Oah look more real. but they would tell WB and Cambell to aproach it different. lighting,colors,.....

Neville Page is a favorite of mine. he did a fantastic job. but there is no way that hes suit design and aliens can look real in an enviorment that defy lighting . i could writte 5 pages on lighting in this movie on Oah. but i wont. i will jsut accept it and ejony this summer movie. i f... love the trailer.

It's kids, and I doubt it.

Umm..people can change opinions on movies all 'the time, positively or negatively. its a part if life. As you grow older your taste might change because as a kid you MAY not fully process certain movies at a developmental stage. Of course people are different so it's hard to generalize too much but you get what I mean.

As a kid I thought Godfather was boring but now I love it. Masters of the universe was my fav but now it's just a guilty pleasure.
