Yep Momoa was in the ring but lost the part. Good riddance I would say, he's a horrible actor IMO. And Bautista seems absolutely overwhelmed to have landed such a big role.

 

So...Anyone else ready for them to stop screwing around and cast Thanos?

 

They likely already have.

Or he's hidden in the cast. Gunn said he pretty much announced everyone who's officially signed already.

 

What I dont understand is why hasnt marvel officially announced Diesel as Groot yet? With all the talking and talking he's done why are they still mum about it? Something's fishy about that...

 

Maybe because it's all over the place already.

 

I dunno, to me it just feels like Vin Diesel is the only one who thinks he's playing groot and everyone else is like "yeah, keep thinking that vin..."

 

On that note, MTV.com showed a pic today of Vin walking around on small stilts (they elevate him about a foot and a half, or two feet or so off the ground), and said he was practicing mocap for Groot. But they questioned whether he's really playing Groot, too, implying that he might be Thanos.

 

He'd better not be Thanos, that'd be a huge blow to the film IMO.

 

agreed. Don't think he will be.

 

I disagree - we've seen the basic look in The Avengers - just give him some good lines and you've got a great villain.

 

Boy would it be funny if Marvel announces someone else as voicing Groot. When do you guys think we'll get confirmation? I imagine they need to start their voice work relatively soon, no?

 

But you need a good actor to deliver good lines, Vin isn't that.

 

Gunn said they already did ...if he was referring to casting.

I like vin. I know he's not going to be in an oscar winning films anytime soon but he's kind of fun if you're in on the joke and he has a great voice for atmosphere

 

You know what name kinda sounds like Thanos? Glenn Close...

 

Wasnt sure if it'd been brought u, but what if Fillion's playin Star Fox?

I know very little about the comic so far. But after hearing about the cast, and seeing the trailer, this has officially become my most anticipated movie of the summer. The trailer of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY has got me super excited and I can’t wait for the 14th of August.!
