Here it is once again, as us Hypesters gather together again for the official Super Bowl thread!

So bring on the picks, discussion and any other NFL news that comes along as the big game approaches!

Not that it really matters to me but, I hope AZ wins. Always nice to see a team that has never won a SB go out and do it. Even if it means hearing all about Kurt Warner and his devotion to God for the next 2 weeks on an endless loop. Then again I guess that is better than Brett Favre talk.

I don't think it goes without saying, how unnecessary the other thread closing is. Just because Fire wants to have his Super Bowl party thread. Another abuse of mod power.

Oh darn, I forgot to get Darth's permission first. :o

It's been done this way for the past two years and no one has complained. So it will be done this way again.

I'm complaining now. You know what else went on for years without complaining? The Holocaust. Yes, I just compared this thread to the Holocaust.

Yes, I know. I was just trying to illustrate that just because no one complains doesn't make it right. And instead of just saying that, I made a Holocaust analogy. Because on the internet, bringing in Hitler and the Holocaust wins every argument.

Who to root for? One of the most decorated teams in NFL history or the loveable losers? This one's easy.

I wonder if Arlen Specter will hold any Senate hearings due to the Eagles losing yesterday? There has to be some sort of conspiracy with that right?

Yahoo has an article up about all of Flacco's mistakes yesterday...get ready for all the "Can Flacco win the big game?" talk. :whatever:

I think he's observing MLK day today & will start on the first draft of his letter to Congress first thing tomorrow.

Yahoo also has a blog about the super controversial pass interference non-call on Kevin Curtis. You know, the one everyone is talking about....oh wait, no one is talking about it. Yahoo is stupid.

oh you mean the call no one outside of Philadelphia cares about?

Can't find an article on it, but I'm sure there's one around the corner with the big layoff between yesterday's games & the Super Bowl, but in addition to getting in a shouting match with the Cards' OC on the sidelines, Anquan Boldin walked off the field after Arizona's win & headed home once the celebrating moved into the locker room. You kinda have to be there, no? Your team just made it to their first SB & you're just walking off the field like it's no big deal? Let's suck it up, huh? He'll be moved in the off-season, methinks.

Actually he was tripped but it could be called incidental...oh and ESPN mentioned it as did other broadcasts.

That play alone didn't lose us the game.

Yeah, they mentioned it, but didn't spend more than 20 seconds on it.

Oh, and all this nonsense about the hit on McGahee being dirty needs to stop. I for one, understand the helmet to helmet rule, but at the same time, the helmet is there for a reason.

Hey, lets continue the nicknames in this thread. A few new ones:

Anquon B**chin

Flaccoverated

Kurt “the Papa John’s guy” Warner (seriously, he looks just like him… didn’t realize it until the plethora of Papa John’s commercials during the games yesterday)

Donavan “aw, crap, Philly hates me again” McNabb

Mike “I sound like Sylvester Stallone when I shout” Tomlin

Limas “Keep your f**king eyes on the ball!!!” Sweed

Baltimore “…and THAT’s why you didn’t win the AFC North” Ravens

Troy “Thanks for the late Christmas present!” Polamalu

I think it was fairly obvious that it was pass interference. Although the three previous passes were to wide open receivers and Donovan missed all three throws.

Eagles threw the game away and then got screwed.

Also i was kind of confused by the sudden closing of the other thread myself.

no big deal though.

and Pittsburgh will win by 20. I wish there was a simple way to bet with you folks cause i have been looking all day at work for a sucker to take Zona to no avail.

BR wins his second.

Zona gets torn to shreds after a pitiful superbowl performance. Prediction.

EDIT O and Troy Palomalu continues to be the best defensive player in the NFL. That guy is sick. And no this is not the first time i am saying this. Did you see those open field tackles.

I also don't see the point in closing the other thread I wanted to come back and comment on other people comments over the weekend about the championship, but whatever.

Where's the buffet?

I'm leaning toward the Cardinals winning I dunno need to do some research.

How about that bogus call on the cardinals that the ball went out of bounds and it' can't be reviewed:wow: You couldn't tell from the camera angle I saw if the eagle player tipped it but it clearly landed in bounds. That game would have been over alot sooner had the cardinals got the turnover right there.

Are you going to mention how Arizona definitely got screwed on the "out of bounds" kickoff? Arizona should have had the ball in Eagles' territory (at about the 26), but instead the Eagles got the ball. Instead, you want to point to an "obvious" interference call that no one can agree on?
