"i think she has one if the best voices ive heard"

what the hell does THAT mean?
how did this lady sound on 24????

She has one of those kinda low, somewhat gruff, sexy voices, like Iman.

Beautiful woman, tremendous actress, gonna own all her scenes in this film.

she's not Indian:(

but she's still a f'in great actress!

i loved her in "House of Sand and Fog":)

i wonder how much hairspray makeup had to use to get her hair to stay up like that?

She's a visible minority and a woman over 40, double marks of death for female actresses in Hollywood. Oh well, she's going to rock in X3...

Never mind over 40, Shohreh is nearly 54, and she looks stunning.

Another quote about her from Simon:
Simon Kinberg said:
1.) Speaking of Shohreh, how is she in person? I was a big fan of hers when she was on 24. Amazing actress.

*She’s an incredible actress. And a consummate professional. I think she has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard.

I was the one who asked that question. :D

Think Simon Kinberg made a mistake on the quote from the first post.

'One Oscar Win'???? The Cast of X-Men have two oscar wins....

Halle Berry for Best Actress

and

Anna Paquin for Best Supporting Actress

I know that disgusted me to no end as soon as i read that on Spectre's post (as i haven't gone to xverse forums in a while).

Personally i think they look completely different. She fits into the role nicely but the look nothing alike. The film version looks like a bit of a fiesty vixen, while the comcid book version looks a bit dowdy. Plus Rao is Indian and Shohreh is Iranian.

Must be like how Asians can tell if one isn't Japanese when it's called for in a role. Like Mei. :O

She looks amazing for her age. I wish my mom looks more like her. :o

Shohreh isn't a true Indian, but while she's in character there in the trailer, they've certainly taken some strides in making her as Indian as they can...(makeup, hair,...etc)

She'll probably have an Indian inflection in the movie to pull the whole package off..

It's fine, people...Stop looking past the character..

Don't ask.

My mom looks old for her age. Don't tell her that. :p *flees*

WoW! I didn't even know she was in this movie! All you fellow '24' fans know that we're in for a real treat with this five star caliber actress.

Indeed we are. :D

And this time, she won't have a son to hold back her evilness. :D

Kinberg said she only has a couple of 'key' scenes.

I reckon will have the...

-one that we see of her trying to cure angel.
-a disccussion of ethic and the cure with the beast.
-scenes with leech
-and bet you more then anything that mystique will be pretending to be her in a scene in order to discover the origin of the cure.

I like the ideas. I'd love to see her with Beast.

Yeah, in the comics, she was a former collegue of Beast, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Iranians are more mistaken for Arabs than anything, so its nice to see Indians thrown in now too, lol. (light sarcasm here) I've loved everything she's been in. She gave me chills for much of 24 - so evil, and to change later... kind of.

And we have the same name! :) (Rebecca's my american name) So I gotta give her points for that too. :P

I think to mistake someone that's Persian as Arab isn't a huge jump, as many arabs are from Iran (and yes, I'm half middles eastern), but I digress...
As far as Shohreh, she has been amazing in everything I saw her in. She was awesome in Maryam, House of Sand and Fog, and as Terror-Mom in 24.
For X3, she looks like a mean, uptight, prudish scientist more interested in making a discovery than its ramifications.
She's got such a gritty, grainy, smoker's voice, and these really expressive eyes, her and Kelsey are gonna own every scene they're in.

I agree, she's very good for this character. She'll do brilliantly, as always!

Well, I wouldnt go as far as to say many, but I agree that its not a big jump to the average person (I'd get smacked if my parents heard that though!) We're surrounded ...geographically speaking, heh.

Yeah, I know. I wonder if they will put that acknowledgement in the movie.

This must be the longest official thread title i've seen.:p

So i figure the writers have replaced Tildie Soams with Angel and Benetech laboratories with Worthington industries from Joss Whedon's story?

I think, if you're taking the appropriation of Whedon's "gifted" arc directly, Soames should be Angel and I suppose Collosus would be Leech. But I think it's less a direct transition and more 'inspired by' type ide.

Actually, that idea was also borrowed from a District X comic where a mutant secreting an hallucinogenic drug was kept prisoner for a drug lord and sold a new substance that poisoned the streets,
