Superman Returns Official Soundtrack Preview now Online!!!

I didn't really like what Ottman did with X2, and we're basically in the same situation here -- updating what someone did before him.

I hope it turns out better this time.

Wow. I'm sorry, but that felt like a post just to drop a name lol

Wasn't meant to be. It was just, both of them have expressed upset to me over the fact that he takes all the credit for whistling. And they both wrote songs when they worked with John that he takes credit for. So when I mention a John Carpenter score for a movie that they worked on, I try to make it clear that they actually did most of the score as a way to kind of let the world know since they are listed as just synthesizer programmers on the albums/CD's, with pics of John playing the synths and them just programming it. That was all. If it felt like name dropping, I am sorry.

they have like the new poster and like um the soundtrack 30 second thingos.... dunno if it was posted already but yeah i came across it....so yeah thought i would in form yas.....

I'm listening Now And it's a bit better than I thought. Ottman is still ill-suited to adapt John Williams.(Williams Ross and David Arnold are good candidates)

His take on the Williams scored Themes are variable. They aren't much better than anything Ken Thorne did. At Least Thorne's Original Music was actually pretty good. (for Superman 3) Ottman's Original stuff is still very generic.(Like a generic rip from Basil Poledouris) That's just me however.

 Yeah, right! Ottman's work is far ,far superior to that cheap Ken Thorne supermarket version of the theme! The tracks I listened to were amazing, but I guess there'll always be a whiner or two to complain about everything!

I think he other stuff sounds Rather.. meh.. but the theme is nailed.

I love how he incorporated parts of the original score (love theme, Krypton, Kent family) without it sounding "forced" for lack of a better word.

you can tell he is flying off after talking with lois..then we get the earth flight and smile.:)

Hey, which track is the one that starts off with the choir and at the end the main march appears accompanied by the choir! That was soooo good!

I agree with the Notion that Ken Thorne's work in Superman 2 was Lousy to say the Least. But His Superman 3 Adaptation was actually decent (but massively inferior) He actually got a chance to Put in some original Music. Ottman to me just has NEVER done anything that I like. So please stop whining about my opinion.

I didn't like them. So What?!?! I'm not whining pointlessly. If you want you can go back and read everysingle post on my feelings of Ottman being on this Project. Sure they are all negative, but I back up my feelings fairly and consistently.

So? I have Bought Albums based on 30 second previews and never had any regrets. (except for buying incomplete scores) There are others that I bought using less information. Jerry Goldsmith's Rejected Timeline score is a Good example.

Oh come on "Krocie" the soundtrack will be Ottmans crowning jewel, and it'll serve the movie well!:)

Dreams are but the first step...next are the journeys, which are quite fun along the way. Plus, it took me well over a year. You're well on your way. :)

Hey, lets stop off at a newsstand in 1938 for a copy of Action #1. We'll be set for life.

While that would be great, I'm sure there's some weird guidelines of time travel with not interfering for personal gain...what if that issue we take is supposed to belong to one of the greats like Wolfman, Johns, Busiek, Morrison, or Ross?

If "Back to the Future Part 2" has taught us anything, it's that buying something that'll make us rich in the future always comes back to bite us in the backside. :(

But that's why rules were made to be broken! ;) :D

It might work better with the movie on a superficial basis. (that it uses John Williams' Score-Badly)
Othwise I don't think it will do (esp. for me) much when listening to it on CD. That is where it matters in the end.
