WW it is doing excelent. The domestic is disturbing. The breakdown of domestic to overseas right now is 37.8 % domestic, 62.2 % overseas. Spider-Man 2 was, 47.7 % domestic, 52.3 % overseas. Spider-Man was, 49.1 % domestic, 50.9 % overseas. It's not as popular here, as overseas this time around. Don't know if that is because of the compentition, or what.
I think the world has finally taken an interest in Spider-Man.
The domestic gross of Spidey 3 will probably be about $350 million or so, meaning a $20 or so million drop from Spidey 2's $373 million. I don't know if that is a sign of quality, however, because Spidey 2 dropped $30 million from the first Spider-Man domestically and is regarded as better than the original.
Competition doesn't help if you ask me. Shrek 3 and Pirates 3 will take SOME of the audience away from Spider-Man 3. Instead of going to see it twice or three times people may say "well...I haven't seen Pirates or Shrek yet so let's go see those instead".
