I doubt FF2's going to make more than 300...
I doubt FF2's going to make more than 300...
In Tempest's defense, I will say this: I love Spider-Man but the Transformers first full trailer got me more excited than SM3's first theaterical trailer. I'm pretty sure SM3 will remain my favorite movie, but the trailer wasn't very good, the editting was bad, and the music....wtf? Only in the last 3 min trailer did they get things somewhat right. The music in the Transformers trailer had me damn near standing up.
I'm thinking close to $100M opening for Transformers is definitely possible, but there will be a big drop second weekend.
And about the thread topic, I think alot of things correlate to Spider-man 3's box office and it's future performance, so I think it's alright if other movies' box offices are discussed as well.
Hmm not sure what your saying lol damn them for having that title.
If you are saying FF2 will not make more than 300M I agree
If you are saying that FF2 won't beat 300 the movie I strongly disagree.
Bingo.
Those hating on F42 need to realize that the general public was very entertained by it as seen by it's box office performance regardless of the bashing by critics who hated it before they even saw it. The general public who didn't see the movie in theaters because of the critics and saw it on video and were entertained by it will now be ready for the sequel. And never underestimate the marketing of Fox. I'm betting F42 will surpass $200M easily.
I think what Stupify is saying is that you are coming off wrong about your opinion.......you know, the same thing I told you but you didn't listen. People have different opinions....it happens. I agree with Stupify, Transformers doesn't really grab you, it has good effects and things blowing up but it just seems a little off. And yes.......I to believe F42 will make more than Transformers. To each his own dude. You chose the path of the hate, I chose the path of the TF followers. I can't personally see how someone can't like it.

Some of us like good movies that are about more than just "WaTcH HoW MAnY ThiNGS theY CAn BLoW uP!!!111!!!"
There is no special story there is no depth there is nothing to this but a bunch of explosions and a tiny little unremarkable love story that never really goes anywhere special hell it's hard to eve call it a love story maybe a puppy LIKE story. Mostly though it's just a bunch of CGI and BOOOOOMMMM!!!!!

And you're expecting more from FF2?![]()
Yea FF2 appears to actually have a story and if they stick even close to the Silver Surfer character from the comics there will be a very good story.
As I said- TO EACH HIS OWN
There is no swaying my opinion and there is no swaying yours- so why are we even bothering at that?
And Docker, are you even reading the posts- I never tried to sway Stupify's opinion about anything, all I said was- "to each is own"... you do know what that means right? That means "we are each entitled to our own opinions, you have yours- I have mine. No point in attacking other's opinions." Tell me how the fck that is coming off wrong- explain that. I'm saying a "live and let die", Stupify wants to turn this into some kind of bickering argument that lasts forever and frankly- goes no where.
And btw, the character that I relate to most- in EVERY comic type movie is... Sam Witwicky. That's me. I am Sam. Or at least personality wise. So, no- for me the robots isn't what makes me excited. It's Sam's story that I can't wait to see.
So just stop rushing to conclusions on why someone might want to see the film- because, you think you got me pegged? Think again, dude.

And about earlier, I was confused about what you were saying- 32 mil, doesn't make sense... at all; but just over 100 mil and not really as high as someone might think- makes sense and is possible, never said anything against that in a derogatory manner (only the thought of the biggest flop in cinematic history (32 mil)).

Ok this thread has turned into a flame war...lets get back to Spidey.
After the first Fantastic Four and X3, I doubt that FF2 won't follow in their steps. Especially if the movie turns out to be only 89-95 minutes long like rumored.
Maybe you should try to read the script before you plan to go watch this for Sam's story.Progress what argument? I said why I PERSONALLY LIKED IT. I said why I liked it.
Because it sounded like you were trying to make me sound like some action junkie. You were, um- replying to my post with this comment:
"Some of us like good movies that are about more than just "WaTcH HoW MAnY ThiNGS theY CAn BLoW uP!!!111!!!"
And you honestly didn't think I wouldn't get offended by that? Get real dude.
I simply made it clear that I'm not the action junkie you tried to make me out to look like. I said why I liked the film- Sam's story and because that's the once character in all these films I relate to most. How is that arguing? Hmm, maybe it's to you because you want to me to come out looking like some cliche action junkie. When, in fact, I am anything but that.
